SonarOne Aquatic Herbicide
SonarOne Aquatic Herbicide is a premium fluridone pellet herbicide that delivers fast, targeted aquatic weed control with long-lasting residual, offering one-application management for ponds, lakes, and potable water sources while eliminating overspray and protecting sensitive shoreline landscapes.
04/12/26
SonarOne Aquatic Herbicide, manufactured by Sepro, is an effective fluridone-based aquatic herbicide designed to deliver a fast, effective dose within the first day, then hold steady in the water column for long-term residual control often with just one application.
This selective, systemic aquatic herbicide contains fluridone, a well-known and widely trusted active ingredient for aquatic weed management. Fluridone works by inhibiting carotenoid synthesis in susceptible aquatic plants. Without carotenoids to protect chlorophyll from sunlight, plants slowly bleach, weaken, and die. This slow, controlled mode of action is intentional it allows weeds to decline gradually without sudden oxygen depletion or large-scale plant collapse that can stress fish and other aquatic organisms.
SonarOne Aquatic Herbicide provides unmatched precision, eliminating overspray and protecting sensitive shoreline vegetation. Its fast initial dose and long-lasting residual mean fewer applications and more dependable results. And its versatility across ponds, lakes, reservoirs, canals, and potable water sources makes it one of the most practical and professional aquatic herbicides available today.
Tools Needed
It can be applied directly from the container or by boat.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much SonarOne Aquatic Herbicide you will need to treat your water body. To do this, calculate the surface area by measuring (in feet) the surface length and the width, and then dividing by 43,560 to get the surface acreage. For applications to ponds, apply 2.5 or 5.0 pounds of SonarOne Aquatic Herbicide per surface-acre with a depth of 1 feet. Refer to the product label for specific application rate and restrictions.
- Step 2: Spread the pellets from the shoreline and allow them to sink.
Where to Use
SonarOne Aquatic Herbicide can be used in fresh water ponds, lakes, reservoirs, potable water sources, drainage canals, irrigation canals, and rivers.
Do not apply in tidal saltwater.
When to Use
Apply when weeds are present.
Safety Information
SonarOne Aquatic Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product.
Greenhouse and nursery plants should not be irrigated with water from a Sonar-treated area unless specific conditions are met at the active water intake. For woody ornamental plants, a FasTEST must confirm the concentration is less than 5 ppb, while irrigation of other greenhouse or nursery plants requires confirmation that concentrations are below 1 ppb. Alternatively, a verified filtration or water treatment process may be used to ensure the irrigation water concentration is reduced below the 1 or 5 ppb thresholds before use.
Special Considerations
Consult with appropriate state or local water authorities before applying this product to public waters. Permits and/or posting treatment notification may be required by state or local public agencies.
