Solitare WSL Herbicide
Solitare WSL Herbicide is a powerful selective herbicide that provides visible results against a broad-spectrum of post-emergent annual grasses, broadleaf weeds, and sedges in lawns, sod farms, and more.
03/07/26
Solitare WSL Herbicide, manufactured by FMC Technologies, is an all-in-one selective herbicide concentrate that offers excellent control over a wide range of emerged weeds in cool and warm season turf ensuring flexible control in different treatment areas.
By combining two potent active ingredients -sulfentrazone and quinclorac - into a water-soluble liquid (WSL) with a built-in surfactant simplifies the weed management process. This post-emergent solution eliminates the need for tank mixing multiple herbicides or adding other surfactants, streamlining applications and reducing labor.
Solitare WSL Herbicide ensures homeowners, lawn care professionals, landscapers, and golf course superintendents receive a dual mode of action against 40 different weeds such as crabgrass, chickweed, dandelions within 48 hours of application.
Tools Needed
It may be applied with a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Solitare WSL Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acre). For cool-seasoned turf or warm-seasoned turf, apply 3.9 to 5.1 fl. oz. of Solitare WSL Herbicide per 1 to 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. To treat a broader area on cool and warm-seasoned turf, mix 5.3 to 6.9 quarts of product per 100 to 175 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the product label for specific rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank halfway with clean water. Add the recommended Solitare WSL amount from the label. Agitate the mixture continuously to ensure uniform distribution throughout the entire process. Then pour in the remaining half of the water and continue to agitate until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. A second application can be made when 28 to 35 days have passed since the first treatment. If no rainfall or irrigation occurs within 7 days after application of Solitare WSL Herbicide in the amount of 0.5 inches, then irrigation of at least 0.5 inches is recommended.
Where to Use
Solitare WSL Herbicide can be used in established turf areas including, but not limited to, residential, commercial and institutional lawns, athletic fields, commercial sod farms, golf course fairways and golf course roughs.
It may also be used on well-established seeded, sodded, or sprigged turfgrasses.
When to Use
Apply treatments when weeds are present and ensure that there is no rain or irrigation for 2 hours after application.

Solitare WSL Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

| Keith's Pro Tip | "Solitare® WSL Herbicide is a water soluble liquid formulation and has been found to be compatible with most herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and growth regulators commonly used in turf and ornamental plant management. However, when preparing a new tank mix, conduct an appropriate compatibility test by mixing proportional amounts of all spray ingredients in a test vessel (jar) before tank mixing with other products. Shake the mixture vigorously and allow it to stand for five to ten minutes. Rapid precipitation of the ingredients and failure to re-suspend when shaken indicates that the mixture is incompatible and should not be applied." |
