Sniper Insecticide
Sniper Insecticide
Sniper Insecticide, manufactured by Loveland Products, is an insecticide and miticide designed to control over 30 foliar and soil-borne pests. Sniper Insecticide contains the active ingredient Bifenthrin and delivers an impressive residual effect to stop plant-damaging pests like Fall Armyworms, cutworms, Stink Bugs, aphids, and many pore labeled pests.
*This product is a Restricted Use Product (RUP) and requires a Certified Applicator's License to purchase.
Tools Needed
To use Sniper Insecticide you will need a backpack sprayer or for larger jobs, a professional spray rig of ULV Fogger.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Sniper Insecticide you will need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To find acerage, taket the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acre) or measure length of corn rows to get linear feet depending on the area to be treated. Depending on the treatment area, apply 2.1 to 6.4 oz. of Sniper Insecticide per acre in a minimum of 5 gallons of water. For field corn, the dosage is 0.15 to 0.30 fl. oz. per 1,000 linear ft. of row. Refer to the product label as each crop type has a specific rate of application and restrictions.
- Step 2: To mix, you will put half the amount of required water in your sprayer, then add the appropriate amount of Sniper Insecticide to the sprayer then shake until thoroughly mixed.
- Step 3: Apply the Sniper Insecticide mixture to the target treatment areas, spraying to wet but not to the point of runoff. It is recommended to use a fan spray pattern for uniform coverage.
Where to Use
Sniper Insecticide is meant to be applied on agricultural sites and fields to protect crops and trees. It is not meant for residential use.
Crops approved to be treated with this product are cotton, field corn (grain and silage), popcorn, field corn grown for seed (at plant use), sweet corn, succulent peas and beans, brassicas, canola, crambe, rapeseed, cucurbits, fruiting vegetables, lettuce head, artichoke, caneberries, hops, pears, citrus, grapes, tomatoes, spinach, okra, coriander cilantro, dried beans and peas, leafy brassicas, tuberous and corm vegetables, tobacco, soybeans, mayhaw, peanut, and root crops.
When to Use
Apply Sniper Insecticide during periods where it is not too windy. The timing of the application will depend on the pest type but should typically be applied when pests first appear.
Each crop will have its own restrictions for timing of application so it would be best to refer to the product label.
Safety Information
Sniper Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Refer to the label for instructions on treating areas around water and edible vegetation.
