The Smartdisk Termite Bait System is manufactured by FMC and is monitoring system for termite infestations. It comes with a patented grooved wood monitoring station that attracts termites and can easily open to detect termites inside. The special Smartdisk design also acts a Solar Shield to absorb sunlight and transfer heat to the ground below the system. If you want to be certain you have termites around your home, this system will let you know quickly.

Tools Needed

A drill bit with a 2 inch diameter can be used to dig the hole where the bait station will be placed. Aside from this you don't need any additional tools for set up.

How to Use

SmartDisc Station

  • Step 1: Begin by performing a thorough interior and exterior inspection of the structure. Look for the presence of live termites or evidence of termite damage. Draw a detailed diagram of the structure and surrounding property up to approximately 25 feet away from the structure. Document the location(s) of live termites, termite damage and/or conducive conditions that need to be addressed or monitored.
  • Step 2: Using a 2-inch diameter drill bit, drill a 10-inch deep hole. Insert a Monitoring Station through the Smartdisk Locator and push the Smartdisk Locator into the soil so that the outside toplip makes full contact with the soil.
  • Step 3: Install approximately every 10 feet around the perimeter of the structure.
  • Step 4: When termites have been detected, you can then carry out treatment using a liquid termiticide.
  • Step 5: Within three months of the initial treatment (or sooner if required by local laws), re-inspection of the structure should be performed to confirm that the infestation has been controlled.

Where to Use

Smartdisk Termite Bait System can be used around any residential or building subjected to termites. Bait stations should be placed in the ground 10-20 feet a part and either inside or outside the gutter drip line or at least 2 to 3 feet away from the foundation.

When to Use

Smartdisk Termite Bait Systems are more beneficial when applied before termites have entered a residential or building structure and used as a prevention method. Once termites have entered a structure, other methods of elimination are necessary.

Safety Information

Smartdisk Termite Bait System are safe when used according to the product label. When installing the stations in the ground be sure they are flush to the ground and out of the way of mowing equipment. Keep termite bait cartridges away from children and pets.
