Shredder 2,4-D LV4 Weed Killer
Shredder 2,4-D LV4 Weed Killer is an easy-to-use selective herbicide that offers superior penetration, absorption, and control over challenging weeds in various crops, pastures, lawns, and more.
04/10/26
Shredder 2,4-D LV4 Weed Killer, manufactured by Winfield United, is an effective post-emergent herbicide that quickly kills broadleaf weeds and brush while leaving grasses intact in agricultural fields, ornamental turf, and non-cropland sites.
Due to this selective herbicide's low volatile ester formula (LV4), it helps applicators tame uncontrolled brush and unwanted vegetation with minimum spray drift and off-target movement. Because Shredder 2,4-D LV4 Weed Killer contains a lower ester formulation than other standard products, it enhances faster plant absorption for quicker results, better weed penetration, and reduced spray drift, thus lessening the chances of surrounding plant damage.
Shredder 2,4-D LV4 Weed Killer gives the average forestry, pasture, agricultural, and turf owner the power to control various broadleaf weeds and brush within 30 days or less. Its low volatility, systemic action, and superior penetration and absorption make this product powerful against stubborn, hard-to-kill weeds like Russian thistle, poison ivy, and witchweed.
Tools Needed
This product can be applied with a spray rig, aerial application equipment, or other types of ground equipment.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Shredder 2,4-D LV4 Weed Killer to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For listed ornamental turf, apply 2 to 3.15 pints of Shredder 2,4-D LV4 Weed Killer per 100 gallons of water per acre. For pastures and rangelands, use 4 pints of product per 5 to 10 gallons of water plus 1 gallon of oil or 1-2 quarts of a crop oil concentrate with at least 17 % emulsifiers per acre or a non-ionic surfactant at .25% v/v surfactant to water - (1 quart per 100 gallons of water) per acre. To make spot treatments in non-crop areas apply 4 oz. of product with 3 gallons of water. For listed crops limit treatments to 1 application per crop cycle. All other listed sites may only receive 2 treatments per year. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the equipment half full of water, agitate while adding this product, and then add the rest of the water. If you are using petroleum oil-based sprays with this product, follow this mixing order: First, mix this product with the oil, then add it to water. If vigorous agitation is possible, the oil can be added last. A non-ionic surfactant or a crop oil concentrate may be added last to the solution.
- Step 3: Spray at least 4 feet above the crop canopy. Do not release spray at a height greater than 10 feet above the crop canopy unless a greater height is required for aircraft safety. This requirement does not apply to forestry or rights-of-way applications. Retreat with another application if needed after 30 days from the first application.
Where to Use
Shredder 2,4-D LV4 Weed Killer can be used for corn, soybeans, grain sorghum, small grains (not underseeded with legumes), fallow ground, pastures, rangelands, conservation reserve program area pastures and rangelands not in agricultural production, non-crop areas, and ornamental turf.
Do not use on St. Augustine grass. Bentgrass, clover, legumes, and dichondra may be injured.
When to Use
Treat in the early spring and fall when young and actively growing and plants are fully established.
Do not apply if rain is expected within an hour of treatment.
