Sapphire Herbicide
Sapphire Herbicide
Sapphire Herbicide is a specially formulated post-emergent herbicide that slows down and controls the transition of weeds in established warm-seasoned turf.
Sapphire Herbicide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a unique post-emergent herbicide designed to eliminate broadleaf weeds by slowing down their growth rate to the point of death.
Formulated with penoxsulam as its active ingredient, this product provides post-emergent control over weeds such as dollarweed, chickweed, and clover.
Sapphire Herbicide is a superior post-emergent herbicide that gives the power of 5 active ingredients with one ingredient when controlling difficult-to-manage weed species.
Tools Needed
Sapphire Herbicide can be used with a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Determine how much Sapphire Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). General applications will use 0.55 fl. oz. of Sapphire Herbicide per 0.5 gallons of water per per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer the label for specific rates.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Sapphire Herbicide, then pour in the remaining half of water. Agitate the tank until mixed.
- Step 3: Ensure even coverage of weeds with Sapphire Herbicide, but not to the point of runoff.
Where to Use
Sapphire Herbicide can be used for established turfgrass, including residential lawns, golf courses, sports fields, sod farms and around commercial structures and other commercial turfgrass areas, and postemergence control of weeds in non-cropland sites.
When to Use
Apply Sapphire Herbicide when weeds are small and actively growing on days when rainfall is not expected for 1 hour after application.
Safety Information
Sapphire Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets out of treated areas until the sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
Do not apply Sapphire Herbicide directly to, or otherwise permit this product to come into contact with, flowers, ornamental shrubs or trees, or other desirable broadleaf plants, as serious injury may occur.
