SaniDate 5.0
SaniDate 5.0
SaniDate 5.0, manufactured by BioSafe Systems, is a strong commercial sanitizer and disinfectant against plant and human pathogens on a variety of hard, non-porous surfaces and on fruits and vegetables.
This broad-spectrum disinfectant eliminates bacteria, fungi, and human health viruses such as coronavirus and human influenza virus instantly on contact. When applied it will react to the enzymes and proteins that make up harmful simple cell organisms then work to eliminate them without leaving behind harmful residue.
SaniDate 5.0 effectively inhibits the growth of mold, mildew, and the odors they cause on non-food contact surfaces. However, due to this product ability to quickly break down there is very little reentry restrictions.
Tools Needed
SaniDate 5.0 can be applied as a solution with either a mop, sponge, power sprayer, paintbrush, airless sprayer, low pressure hand wand, cold fogger, thermo fogger, or backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much SaniDate 5.0 to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To use SaniDate 5.0 for the treatment of waters used in the processing of raw fruits and vegetables, mix SaniDate 5.0 with water either batch-wise or continuously at a rate of 59.1-209.5 fl. oz. of SaniDate 5.0 solution to 1,000 gallons of water. For fog tunnel and fogging applications of produce, inject SaniDate 5.0 directly into the system at a rate of 22 fl. oz. per 100 gallons of water. For fruits and vegetables in storage, mix the product concentrate with water at 1:730-1:588 ratio (0.17-0.22 fl. oz. per gallon of water). To fog in food premises, use 1 quart of product per 1,000 sq. ft. of room area with a solution of 1.6-5.4 fl. oz. of SaniDate 5.0 to 5 gallons of potable water. For use as a virucide against human coronavirus on nonporous surfaces, dilute 1.0-2.2 fl. oz. of product per gallon of water. To use this product as a disinfection and cleaning treatment, use 0.5-2.2 fl. oz. of product per gallon of water for hard, non-porous surfaces. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: To mix for power spraying equipment like backpack sprayers, fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add measured amount of SaniDate 5.0, then pour in the remaining half of water. Shake the spray tank until the solution completely dissolves. Repeat this procedure in a separate container for fogging equipment, mopping, sponge, and paintbrush.
- Step 3: When treating indoors, make sure the room is properly ventilated and people and animals will not revisit the area for at least 1 hour. For post harvest applications, fruits and vegetables can be sprayed or submerged in the resulting solution for a minimum contact time of 45 seconds, followed by adequate draining. For fog applications, spray fog until even and sufficient distribution is achieved across all sections of the stored produce or perform first fog application immediately after produce gets into storage (within 5-7 days of storage). When using as a virucide, disinfectant, or cleaning process you will need to pre-clean visibly soiled areas. If you performing these treatments as a spray application then spray 6-8 inches from surface. Treated surfaces must remain visibly wet for ten (10) minutes. Allow to air dry.
