B&G Rod Spring RS-49 for Ban Drip Valve
B&G Rod Spring RS-49 for Ban Drip Valve
RS-49 Rod Spring Ban Drip by B&G Equipment Company is specifically sold for use as a replacement part for B&G sprayers. The Rod Spring coils around the valve rod pin and provides tension for the trigger mechanism on the ban drip valve. These parts experience wear and tear over time and should be replaced periodically. If your Ban-Drip Valve tip is leaking, replace the Rod Spring to get your Sprayer working like new once again.
Tools Needed
To use the B&G Rod Spring RS-49, you will need the appropriate B&G Sprayer with the Ban-Drip valve to replace the part on and possibly a pair of pliers or a crescent wrench if the parts are tightly secured.
How to Use
- Step 1: Detach the Ban-Drip Valve from from the hose.
- Step 2: Use a wrench to remove the tip, seat gasket and valve rod until you get to the Rod spring. You can refer to the repair manual instructions for details on how to specifically do this. After taking the old rod spring off, replace with the new B&G Rod Spring RS-49 and tightly secure it.
- Step 3: Put your Ban-Drip valve back together and connect it back to your sprayer hose then test it out to ensure it is working properly.
Where to Use
The B&G Rod Spring RS-49 is meant to be used only for replacement on a B&G Sprayers with Ban-Drip Valves.
When to Use
Replace the B&G Rod Spring RS-49 when it has been damaged or you are experiencing leaking from your sprayer tip. How often this part is changed depends on how often you use the sprayer. If it is heavily used, the part wears and tears quicker. Typically at minimum we suggest changing it out annually.
Safety Information
Be sure to wear gloves when handling the B&G sprayer parts, as there may be residue from chemicals or buildup on the sprayer parts. Be sure to properly drain and clean the sprayer parts before performing maintenance. Keep small items like this nut out of reach of pets and children as they may swallow it.
Special Considerations
Along with the B&G Rod Spring RS-49, it would be smart to replace all the other small parts on the B&G Sprayer rather than just a single part at a time. Set a maintenance schedule for your sprayer and change out all the parts in one shot to save time so your sprayer can stay in good working condition.
