DIRECTIONS FOR USE BRANDT MARK-IT RED is a concentrated red colorant designed to be a temporary spray indicator for use with pesticide and other liquid spray solutions. It provides highly visible evidence of spray application patterns. Use of this product eliminates waste due to overlapping and skipping while indicating drift and improper application.

BRANDT MARK-IT RED readily dissipates, is non-toxic, and totally compatible with water soluble solutions. This product is ideal for golf courses, parks, cemeteries, athletic fields, lawn care maintenance, utility rights-of-way, forestry and any large turf or grass areas — virtually anywhere where spray evidence is needed.

BRANDT MARK-IT RED will not permanently stain vegetation, soil, or human skin and can be used with boom-sprayers, riding equipment, backpack or wand sprayers.

BRANDT MARK-IT RED should be added to the spray tank when it is approximately half full. Use one quart for each 75-100 gallons of spray solution, or one gallon for each 300-400 gallons of spray solution. When using hand-held or back-pack sprayers (i.e. 3-5 gallons), use one ounce per gallon. The above rates are approximations. Turf or weed color, height, and individual water conditions such as hardness, pH, iron content, etc. may dictate variations from the above suggested rates. Sight adjustment is recommended. Test for required concentration before use and adjust as needed. If accidentally spilled, this product can be removed from skin or equipment with several washings of soap and water. Avoid letting concentrate come into contact with fabrics.

Coverage Area

Mark-It Red is used at the higher rate of use each 2.5 gallon container will treat an estimated 10,000 gallons of water depending on desired solution concentration per application.

Time to Kill

Mark-It Red is used as a colorant and does not kill.

Mix Rate

For the general use of Mark-It Red mix at the rate of 1 quart per 75 to 100 gallons of spray solution, or 1 gallon for each 300 to 400 gallons of spray solution. For the general use of Mark-It Red in a hand-held or backpack sprayer mix at the rate of 1 ounce per gallon of finished spray solution.

Works well on green grass
I got this because the "Mark-It Blue" dye doesn't work very well on green grass. As soon as the blue die dries, it's very hard to tell where you sprayed. I bought this "Mark-It Red" dye to fix that problem, and it worked quite well. I had red spots all over my yard, like I had spray painted it, but within a day, the dye had all dissipated and the only color in those spots was the yellow of dying weeds.

It does stain your hands, and most things it comes in contact with (like your shoes when you walk over where you sprayed), but I found that bleach works well to get rid of the stains quickly, wherever appropriate.
