Quali Pro T/I 2.5 G Trifluralin Herbicide
Quali Pro T/I 2.5 G Trifluralin Herbicide
Quali Pro T/I 2.5G Trifluralin Herbicide, manufactured by Quali-Pro, is a effective granular pre-emergent herbicide used for the control of more than 100 different types broadleaf weeds and annual grasses in managed ornamentals, Christmas tree plantations, and other terrains.
This granule herbicide works by preventing weed seeds from germinating with the active ingredients trifluralin 2.0%, and Isoxaben 0.5% before they emerge during the growing season. Its mode of action uses a cellulose biosynthesis inhibitor to control a broad-spectrum of weeds and contains a seedling growth inhibitor (dinitroaniline) to prevent their regrowth.
Quali Pro T/I 2.5G Trifluralin Herbicide is a long lasting pre-emergent herbicide that can be used on more than 635 labeled ornamentals for up to 8 months, saving you time and money. With its low-water solubility it will remain in the weed zone once it has been watered in with rainfall or irrigation.
Tools Needed
To use Quali Pro T/I 2.5G Trifluralin Herbicide, you will need a rotary or drop spreader designed for applying granular herbicides or pesticides. You could use a hand spreader for smaller application areas. We recommend a push broadcast spreader for larger application areas.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Quali Pro T/I 2.5 G Trifluralin Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of your treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply (length X width = square footage). Quali Pro T/I 2.5 G Trifluralin Herbicide should be used at a rate of 2.30 to 4.60 pounds per 1,000 square feet.
- Step 2: Calibrate your spreader to the right spreader setting for application and load the proper measured amount of granules into your spreader. No two spreaders are alike; therefore, follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for proper calibration. If you have previously used your spreader, be sure to clean it out thoroughly to avoid mixture of product.
- Step 3: Broadcast the granules uniformly using your spreader type. You may need to do two perpendicular walkthroughs to get a nice even coverage.
- Step 4: After you have completed the application, water the lawn to activate the granules. The granules must be watered in within 3 days of application into the upper 1 to 2 inches of soil for effective results.
Where to Use
Quali Pro T/I 2.5 G Trifluralin Herbicide can be used on established Christmas tree plantations, non-bearing fruit and nut trees, non-bearing vineyards, non-cropland, and ornamentals (container and field grown, groundcovers/perennials, and landscape).
When to Use
Timing is important when using Quali Pro T/I 2.5 G Trifluralin Herbicide as it will not control weeds which are already up out of the ground and showing. Spread it in early spring, late summer or early fall before weed seeds have germinated. Apply on calm days when wind speeds are low to minimize granule drift. Be sure that, at the time of application, the soil surface is free of clods and is smooth.
Safety Information
Quali Pro T/I 2.5 G Trifluralin Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.
Pets and children should be kept away from the treated area until it is completely dry.

Q:Will this product hurt Bermuda grass or zoysia grass?1/2/18A:The product is not labeled for the use on Bermuda or zoysia grass. Accidental application to turf may occur when applying Quali-Pro T/I 2.5 G to ornamental plantings. Quali-Pro T/I 2.5 G is not specified for weed control in turfgrasses, but turfgrasses are generally tolerant to small amounts of this product that fall outside of the intended area of application. This product would definitely affect any seeding done to the lawn.

Q:This product was recommended to our company as a water soluable pre emergent. However, nowhere do I see it described as such and after attempting to use it, our backpack sprayer gets clogged up. Is T/I in fact water soluable? If so, how should it be mixed when using a backpack sprayer?9/19/17A:This is not a water soluble product, it is a granule that is applied and then watered in after application. If you want something that can be mixed with water and then applied you will want to look at Prodiamine, https://www.solutionsstores.com/prodiamine-65-wdg-barricade-herbicide
