Provaunt WDG
Provaunt WDG
Provaunt WDG Insecticide, manufactured by Syngenta, is a water dispersible granular insecticide used to control worms and caterpillars and other pests that can infest landscapes.
The product is especially popular on golf courses to remove pests like cutworms, sod worms, fall webworms, bagworms, caterpillars, flies, grasshoppers, mole crickets, and weevils. The product is very easy to use and is effective against a wide range of pests.
Tools Needed
To use Provaunt WDG you will need either handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. For small household jobs, we recommend a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer or a 4-gallon backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Measure the square footage of the area you will be treating. You can do this by multiplying the length times width. After you have the square footage, divide by 1,000 to get the number of finished gallons of spray you will need to use. For example, if you have 3,000 sq.ft. to treat you will need (3,000/1,000) 3 gallons of solution.
- Step 2: Mix between 2 and 12 ounces of Provaunt per acre for turf grass or 1.5 to 5 oz for ornamentals with water into your sprayer type. Agitate to ensure the product is well mixed.
- Step 3: Apply the solution to the target area.
- Step 4: Reapply the product as needed after at least 7 days for continued control.
Where to Use
Provaunt WDG is primarily meant to be used outdoors to kill turf insects on landscapes and recreational (including golf course) turfgrass and landscape ornamentals including trees, shrubs, foliage plants, flowers and non-bearing fruit and nut trees. You can also apply this on your landscape around your yard or commercial landscapes.
When to Use
Use Provaunt WDG when you need to treat for insects on your turfgrass and ornamentals that are causing damage. This is especially common around the spring and summer months.
Safety Information
Provaunt WDG is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep out of reach of children or pets and after applying everyone should be kept off the treated area until it is dry.
