Provaunt WDG
04/21/26
Provaunt WDG Insecticide, manufactured by Syngenta, is a water dispersible granular insecticide used to control worms and caterpillars and other pests that can infest landscapes.
The product is especially popular on golf courses to remove pests like cutworms, sod worms, fall webworms, bagworms, caterpillars, flies, grasshoppers, mole crickets, and weevils. The product is very easy to use and is effective against a wide range of pests.
Tools Needed
You will need either handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. For small household jobs, we recommend a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer or a 4-gallon backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Provaunt WDG to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat recreational turfgrass and landscape areas use 0.14 or 0.41 oz. of Provaunt WDG per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. depending on the pest. For maximum residual effectiveness on recreational turf and and landscape areas, apply 0.41 oz. of product per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For ornamentals use 3.75 to 7.5 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water then add Provaunt WDG directly to the tank. Add in the remaining amount of water, and then close the lid. Agitate to ensure the product is well mixed. The mixture should not be stored in the spray tank overnight.
- Step 3: Apply the solution to the top and bottom of plant leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Water in immediately after application with 1/8” of irrigation. For ornamentals, repeat applications must be limited to no more than once per 7 days.

Provaunt WDG can be used for landscape and recreational turf grass, including golf courses and landscape ornamentals.
