Protecta Sidewinder Bait Station
Protecta Sidewinder Bait Station
Protecta Sidewinder was manufactured by Bell Labs and was labeled as the easiest and most time-efficient bait station on the market! Side opening makes maintenance easy without having to move the station. The Sidewinder could also allow the use of both baits and traps in the station. The Protecta Sidewinder trays are removable for easy cleaning and it is tamper-resistant for child and pet protection.
Dimensions: 11" long x 12" wide x 5.5" high
Tools Needed
The Protecta Sidewinder is easy to set up and use. All that is needed aside from the station itself is your choice of rodenticide bait blocks or rodent traps.
How to Use
- Step 1: Using the two-prong Protecta Key, open the station up.
- Step 2: Once opened, you can input bait through either placing the bait on vertical or horizontal rods. Insert the rods in the designated areas in the station and then place rodenticide blocks along the rod to secure it to the station. Vertical rods are recommended when temperatures are very hot so when blocks melt and resolidify during cool temperature, the blocks will resolidify around the rod. Use horizontal baiting when there is a concern of water getting into the station to keep bait dry.
- Step 3: You could also place a rodent trap in the middle of the station. Simple bait the trap with peanut butter or similar item that rodents enjoy and place in the middle of the station before closing. You can lock the station with either zip ties, padlock or locking screw.
- Step 4: For the control of rats, place stations approximately 25 feet apart. For the control of mice, place rodent stations 15' apart. When placing the Protecta Sidewinder Station, you’re going to want to place it horizontally and flush against the wall, making sure it doesn’t block an entrance or an exit. You can also place it vertically.
Where to Use
The Protecta Sidewinder can be placed indoors or outdoors. We recommend placing the station in tight baiting places under pallets, in cupboards or behind appliances. You can also use outdoors along the exterior walls of a structural foundation.
When to Use
Use the Protecta Sidewinder whenever there is high rodent activity. Bait stations should always be used when deciding to bait or trap rodents outdoors for protecting non-intended targets.
Safety Information
The Protecta Sidewinder is safe to use around pets and children because it can be securely locked, protecting the bait from children and non-target animals. Make sure to wear protective safety gloves when handling rodenticide baits.
