For Use In

Protecta LP Bait Stations are used in and around residential and commercial buildings to protect rat and mouse poison from children pets and the elements. For outdoor use we recommend Protecta Lock-N-Load Anchoring System.

Protecta LP Bait Stations should be placed in strategic areas in and around structures based on levels of rodent activity. For the control of rats, place stations approximately 25' apart. For the control of mice, place rodent stations 15' apart. Rodenticide baits such as J.T. Eaton Peanut Butter Bait Pail or Top Gun Bromethalin Bait Blocks are a great choice to place in your bait stations. Soft baits such as First Strike have become an increasingly popular choice as well.

Protecta LP Rodent Bait Station

The Protecta LP Rodent Bait Station is a great station to use to house your rodenticides. The LP stands for “low profile” and this station is made out of a heavy-duty plastic making it last for years and years and comes with a two-prong key for locking and securing the installed bait which will keep your kids and pets safe from getting into the bait and tampering with the station.

Loading the Protecta LP Rodent Bait Station

To load the Protecta LP Rodent Bait Station with bait, first open the lid using the key. There are two ways to load the station. The first way is to use small vertical rods. Inserts the rods in the specified location. The Protecta LP can hold up to four vertical rods. Once the rods are in place, slide the bait block of your choice in place. Each rod can hold one bait block.

Vertical rods should be used if temperatures will be very high because bait may melt from the heat. If this occurs, the rodenticide puddles around the rod, as temperatures cool, it will go solid again around the rod.

The second method is to use a horizontal rod. This rod will lay perpendicular over the holes where the vertical rods are inserts. Remove the rod and slide the bait into place. You can use up to 3 bait blocks with the horizontal rod.  Place the rod back into the designated grooves and secure the lid back into place.

We recommend horizontal baiting when bait stations will be placed in areas where water might get inside. The horizontal rods will keep the bait up off the floor of the station and help keep the product dry.

Make sure to wear protective safety gloves when handling rodenticide baits.

How to Use The Protecta LP Rodent Bait Station

The best practices we suggest for this product is to first unlock the bait station with the accompanying two pronged key at one of the two unlock positions. Place the key into the slots and pull back and the box will open.

Once opened, you will see that there is a bait try as well as a bait hook. Simply push bait blocks onto the removable bait hook and then you can snap the hook back into place. Then close the box until you hear a snap letting you know it is securely shut.

The Protecta LP Rodent Bait Station has two large holes for rats or smaller creatures including insects. You can place the box horizontally and vertically against any walls but not at a corner because this will block one of the holes.

When placing the Protecta LP Rodent Bait Station, you’re going to want to place it horizontally and flush against the wall, making sure it doesn’t block an entrance or an exit. You can also place it vertically.
