Propiconazole 14.3 Select, manufactured by Prime Source LLC, is a flowable suspended concentrate fungicide that contains both foliar and systemic properties to control and prevent various of diseases such as dollar spot or powdery mildew. Additionally, this product can also function as a flare root injected systemic fungicide to control certain diseases in trees.

This fungicide contains the active ingredient propiconazole 14.3%, allowing for excellent residual control for at least 30 days against diseases. It works by disrupting early fungal growth by inhibiting the incorporation of ergosterol into the growing fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, the fungal cellular growth is stopped.

With its long-lasting residual control, this fungicide provides low-use rates for the applicator. Once applied, Propiconazole 14.3 Select cannot be detected since it has a low-odor formulation.

Tools Needed

Propiconazole 14.3 Select may be applied with either a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, hose sprayer, or injecting equipment.

How to Use

Spraying Turf

  • Step 1: Determine how much Propiconazole 14.3 Select to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Depending on the disease, apply between 0.5 to 4 fl. oz. of Propiconazole 14.3 Select per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. of turfgrass. Apply 2 to 24 fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water for control of diseases on ornamentals. For diseases control in landscapes, use 6 to 8 fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water every 21 days. Do not apply more than 1.79 lbs. of product (equivalent to 1.4 gallons of product per acre or 4 fl. oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.) per application. For outdoor uses, do not apply more than 5.4 gallons of product per acre per calendar year on turf, nurseries (field), and landscape plantings.
  • Step 2: Fill your sprayer with half the amount of water, then add measured amount of Propiconazole 14.3 Select, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the sprayer tank lid and shake until evenly mixed.
  • Step 3: On a low pressure setting, spray the top and bottom of plant leaves until wet. For control of foliar diseases, allow sprayed area to completely dry before irrigation. For control of soil-borne diseases, lightly water the treated area after application. Reapplications may be necessary, refer to the product label as diseases and plant reapplication rates will vary.

Where to Use

Propiconazole 14.3 Select can be used on cool-seasoned turfgrass, ornamentals, and non-bearing fruit and nut trees in nurseries (field) and landscape plantings.

Do not apply to African violets, Boston fern, or geraniums. This product cannot be used in greenhouses.

When to Use

Apply Propiconazole 14.3 Select in the early spring before diseases begin to develop and when conditions are favorable for disease development. This product may only be applied once in the fall season before snow covers labeled foliage.

Do not apply to apple, cherry, citrus, nectarine, peach, pear, pecan, plum or walnut trees that will bear harvestable fruit within 12 months.
