PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide, manufactured by Drexel, is a liquid formulation herbicide that has outstanding preemergent control in most annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds as they germinate.
The active ingredient in PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide is pendimethalin 37.4% whose mode of action prevents roots and shoots of the targeted weeds from growing.
PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide has excellent crop safety on over 100+ ornamental grasses, shrubs, and trees and can be used on cool and warm season turfs as well as crops, and noncropland applications.
Tools Needed
To use PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide, you will need to mix the product into a sprayer of your choosing such as a backpack sprayer, a pump sprayer, or a professional spray rig for large-volume applications.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will need to measure the length and the width of the treatment area in feet the multiply them together ( length X width = square footage). For acreage, take your square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For treatment of residential turf applications, 1.3 to 1.8 fl. oz. of PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide per gallon of water for 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the label for more rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill your selected sprayer tank with half of the required water and then add the measured amount of PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide. Fill the sprayer with the remaining half of the water. Close the sprayer and shake it till the product is well mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide mixture, making sure to get even coverage via the fan spray setting. Check back after 5 to 8 weeks for extended weed control.

Use PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide on alfalfa, bearing citrus fruit trees, bearing nut trees, bearing pome fruit trees, bearing stone fruit trees, carrots, carrots grown for seed, corn, cotton, edible beans, forage legumes, fruiting vegetables, garlic, grain sorghum, juneberry, leeks, lentils, mint, nonbearing fruit trees and nut trees, nonbearing vineyards, onions, peas, pomegranate, shallots, peanuts, potatoes, rice, soybeans, strawberries, sugarcane, sunflowers, tobacco and wheat, turfgrasses, industrial turf, ornamentals, landscapes and ground patience, noncropland including tree plantations and total vegetation control.
When to Use
Apply PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide in early spring before weeds have a chance to germinate.
Safety Information
PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area for 24 hours after spraying.
Special Considerations
PIN-DEE 3.3 EC Herbicide can stain sidewalks and driveways.
On turf grass that has been thinned or damaged due to winter injury or excessive moisture allow the turf to recover prior to application.
On newly planted areas, an application should not be made until the turfgrass has filled in and has been mowed at least 4 times.
