You may use a mechanical spreader, aerial application equipment, boom sprayer, piping system, subsurface pump equipment, chemigation system, or with a gloved-covered hand. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Phycomycin SCP Algaecide And Oxidizer to use by measuring the surface acre of the treatment area. Find the surface acre by measuring the length and width of the surface of the water body then multiplying and dividing them together (length X width / 43,560 sq. ft. = surface acre). If algae density is less than 5,000 cells/mL then you would use 3 to 35 pounds of Phycomycin SCP Algaecide And Oxidizer per acre-ft. For medium algae infestations with a density between 5,000 to 30,000 cells/mL you will use 40 to 75 pounds of product per acre-ft. For dense algae infestations greater than 30,000 cells/mL, apply 75 to 100 pounds of product per acre-ft. 
• Step 2: If you plan on using this product as a liquid application, you will need to dissolve this product with enough water to ensure even distribution. Typically, 0.5 lb of product is dissolved in 1 gallon of water when used as a spray solution. Fill the equipment with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of granules, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Shake until well-mixed. All other application methods will simply use the granules without being mixed with water. 
• Step 3: Broadcast the granules directly onto the water surface. Do not treat more than 1/2 of the water body to avoid depletion of oxygen due to decaying vegetation. Make applications in 2 to 3-day intervals. Wait at least 2 days to re-treat areas if re-growth or new growth begins to appear and seasonal control is desired. 

Where to Use

Phycomycin SCP Algaecide and Oxidizer can be used in lakes, reservoirs water, farm, fire, fish, golf course, industrial, irrigation, ornamental, stormwater detention, and wastewater ponds, ballast water, aquaculture, and irrigation conveyance systems.

When to Use

Apply during calm and sunny conditions with 8 to 10 hours of daylight remaining, when the water temperature is at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit for best results.

Treat when growth first begins to appear or create a nuisance, if possible.

Safety Information

Phycomycin SCP Algaecide And Oxidizer is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Do not apply directly to treated, finished drinking water reservoirs or drinking water receptacles when the water is intended for human consumption.

Special Considerations

When treating surface mats of algae blooms, the dissolved product may not penetrate the water column below the infested area, and a second application is then required to target any bottom growing algae in treatment area.

Do not tank mix with aquatic herbicides or algaecides containing copper or bromides. Apply this product at least one day prior to the application of these products.
