Permethrin CS
Permethrin CS
Permethrin CS, manufactured by Control Solutions Inc., is an insecticide concentrate designed for the control of over 50 different types of insects.
This flexible product can be used in various ways, such as injecting under slabs or as an indoor cracks and crevice treatment. Permethrin CS can also be mixed with a foaming agent, that enables the product to reach the hardest of places.
Permethrin CS can be applied with compressed air, a hand-held pump sprayer, truck mounted sprayer, back-pack or power spray equipment. It is a great insecticide for treating mosquitoes in large areas or for spot treatments such as fire ant mounds. Depending on the targeted pest, Permethrin CS provides up to a one week residual effect, but can be applied up to twice a week for heavy infestations.
Tools Needed
To apply Permethrin CS, a handpump sprayer is needed. When injecting Permethrin CS into concrete surfaces, a drill and a masonry bit are needed for proper application.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Permethrin CS you need to apply by calculating the square footage of the area you will be treating. You can do this by measuring and multiplying the area length times width (length x width = square footage). Permethrin CS Insecticide can be mixed either in a 0.5% spray dilution at 2.66 fl. oz. per gallon to treat 1,000 sq. ft. or a 1.0% spray dilution at 5.33 fl. oz, per gallon to treat 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with water and then add the appropriate amount of Permethrin CS. Fill the sprayer the rest of the way with water and then shake the sprayer well and you are ready to apply.
- Step 3: Apply the Permethrin CS mixture in a coarse, low-pressure spray setting to the target area where you are having pest problems. Apply as a crack and crevice treatment and/or selected spot application into hiding places such as cracks and crevices, void areas, moist areas, openings around pipes and sinks and under refrigerators. You can also spray on outside surfaces where pests congregate.
- Step 4: Repeat applications of Permethrin CS as necessary, but not more than twice per week. Treatments must be spaced at least 3 days apart.
Where to Use
Permethrin CS can be used indoors or outdoors to residential, commercial and industrial infrastructures. For indoor use, Permethrin CS can be sprayed in cracks, crevices, under appliances, around doors, windows, baseboards, attics and basements.
For outdoor use, Permethrin CS can be used as a perimeter treatment around homes and other building structures. It can be sprayed around the outside of doors and windows, on patios, porches, barns, in weep holes, and wall voids around plumbing, landscapes, bushes, and wood structures.
Permethrin CS can also be injected into slabs of concrete such as driveways or sidewalks. Do not use Permethrin CS in restaurants when in operation or in areas where food/feed is stored or processed.
When to Use
Permethrin CS leaves a residual barrier and is lethal when insects come in physical contact with it. This makes it more effective when used as a prevention method, but it can be used as a treatment method as well. Depending on which outdoor insect is being controlled will depend on the time of day the product should be applied. Do not make outdoor applications during rainy weather.
Safety Information
Permethrin CS is safe to use around humans and pets when used according to the product label. Wait until applications are dry before making contact with treated surfaces.
Special Considerations
It's important to note that Permethrin CS is not for use with truck-mounted cold aerosol ULV sprayers, hand held cold aerosol ULV sprayers or thermal fogging devices.
For a 0.5% concentrated spray, mix 2 2/3 ounces of Permethrin CS to 1 gallon of water.
For a 1.0% concentrated spray, mix 5 1/3 ounces of Permethrin CS to 1 gallon of water.
When using Permethrin CS as a perimeter treatment, the dilution rate depends on the tank size.
15 gallon tanks- 4 to 8 ounces of Permethrin CS.
25 gallon tanks- 7 to 14 ounces of Permethrin CS.
50 gallon tanks- 10 to 20 ounces of Permethrin CS.

I have nothing against microencapsulated permethrin/pyrethroids; my primary exterminator uses them exclusively and they've been extremely successful ? that?s why I got this product. But his stuff doesn't release fumes after it dries, and this one does ? but you only notice it once you close the windows ? even two weeks after application.

Q: Been dealing with either scabies mites or spider mites. Will Permethrin CS kill these pests. I’m getting bit, I’ve cleaned vacuumed sprayed and constantly washing my clothes. I’ve used permethrin .5% on myself but they come back Help please3/13/24A:Permethrin CS will not control either of these pests. To get rid of scabies and spider mites, check out our DIY guides. Also, none of these products can be used physically on yourself so you will need to contact a local medical professional or visit a hospital. https://www.solutionsstores.com/scabies-control https://www.solutionsstores.com/spider-mite-control

Q:I have experienced a serious clover mite infestation......local and very good pest control service continues to make ongoing efforts - it appears the most serious activity is waning as we move into the clover mite "outdoor" season......my question would this be a good product to supplement my outsourced quarterly treatments and also would this be appropriate to spray my grass (sod about 2 seasons in age) as I attempt to kill clover mite activity outside before fall? Thank you.......Ralph Tucker, Knoxville, TN6/8/21A:I am not sure how this will work on Clover Mite, but it sure works great on Carpenter bees, which is why I bought.
