Perm-X UL 4-4, manufactured by Central Garden and Pet, is a effective synergized pyrethroid insecticide that delivers a quick kill of mosquitoes and other flying insects in and around a residence or commercial areas.

This emulsifiable concentrate product comes ready to use with a low-odor and can be applied in various ways such as as an Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Thermal or Non-thermal aerosol (Cold Fog).

Perm-X UL 4-4 is a convenient and ready to use broad-spectrum insecticide against flying pests such as flies and more within 3 days of application. This non-corrosive formulation features the active ingredients permethrin 4% and piperonyl butoxide 4%, which works to quickly knockdown and kill pests. Piperonyl butoxide improves the effectiveness of the insecticide, providing a greater rate of control over pests like mosquitoes, while allowing lower use rates.

Tools Needed

To use Perm-X UL 4-4, you will need a ULV thermal fogger or non-thermal aerosol (cold fog) fogger, preferably on a truck-mounted spray rig.

Not for use in metered release systems, animal premise automatic misting systems, or outdoor residential misting systems.

How to Use

• Step 1: Perm-X UL 4-4 comes ready to use so all you have to do is apply the undiluted product at flow rates of 2.728 to 19.092 fluid ounce per minute at a truck speed of 10 mph with ulv non-thermal aerosol (cold fog) equipment. Do not exceed 25 applications at 0.007 Ibs. permethrin per acre per application or 0.007 Ibs. piperonyl butoxide per acre per application, or 0.18 Ibs. of permethrin per acre per season or 0.18 Ibs. piperonyl butoxide per acre per year.
• Step 2: Calibrate the fogger to ensure the proper flow rate.
• Step 3: Begin treating the infested areas where the flying pests gather to knock them down and keep them away. Do not retreat site more than once in 3 days.

Where to Use

Perm-X UL 4-4 may be used with ULV thermal or non-thermal aerosol using ground or aerial equipment in areas including: residential, recreational areas, parks, campsites, woodlands, athletic fields, golf courses, municipalities, playgrounds, and non-crop waste areas and over listed growing crops and range grasses prior to harvest for the control of adult mosquitoes and biting flies within or adjacent to these areas.

Do not use in dairy barns or facilities.

When to Use

Use Perm-X UL 4-4 when mosquitoes or insects are most active and weather conditions are conducive to keeping the fog close to the ground, e.g., cool temperatures and ground wind speeds are not greater than 10 mph. Applications during the cool hours of night or early morning are usually preferable.

Do not fog wet foliage.

Safety Information

Perm-X UL 4-4 is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not allow children or pets to enter treated areas until the spray has completed dried and dispersed.

Special Considerations

Perm-X UL 4-4 also comes in variants such as Perm-X 31-66 and 30-30 which contain varied amounts of the diluted pyrethrin active ingredients.

Do not allow spray treatment to drift on pastureland, cropland, (other than crops listed) or water supplies. In treatment of corrals, feedlots, animal confinements/houses, swine lots and zoos, cover any exposed drinking water, drinking fountains and animal feed before application.
