Pathfinder ll Herbicide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a excellent post-emergent herbicide that controls 80 different types of woody plant species without the need of mixing.

Powered by the active ingredient triclopyr 13.6%, this nonpetroleum formulation will eliminate trees, brush, and woody plants by mimicking the plant growth hormone leading to sporadic growths causing the foliage to perish.

Pathfinder ll Herbicide is a versatile herbicide solution that provides wide scale application or low-profile individual plant treatments without leaving behind strong offensive odors.

Tools Needed

Pathfinder ll Herbicide can be applied with a backpack sprayer, knapsack sprayer, or spray rig.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Pathfinder ll Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Applications in forests, rangelands, permanent pastures, and non-crop areas, use 10.7 gallons of Pathfinder II Herbicide per acre. Refer the label for specific application rates.
  • Step 2: No mixing is required, simply pour the required amount of Pathfinder ll Herbicide into your selected sprayer.
  • Step 3: Spray the basal parts of brush and tree trunks in a manner which thoroughly wets the lower 12 to 15 inches of stems, including the root collar area, but not to the point of runoff for basal bark treatments.

Where to Use

Pathfinder ll Herbicide can be used in forests, in rangeland and permanent pastures, and in non-crop areas including industrial manufacturing and storage sites, rights-of-way such as electrical power lines, communication lines, pipelines, road sides and railroads, and commercial and residential landscapes, fence rows, non-irrigation ditch banks and around farm buildings. Use on these sites may include application to grazed areas as well as establishment and maintenance of wildlife openings.

When to Use

Apply Pathfinder ll Herbicide when woody plants have stems that are less than 6 inches or when they begin to resprout throughout the year. Except when snow or water prevent spraying to the ground line.

Safety Information

Pathfinder ll Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until sprays have dried.

Special Considerations

Do not apply Pathfinder II to foliage or stems of desirable plants.

For control of small trees and woody plants growing in and around landscaped or turfgrass areas, apply this product as a cut stump or low volume basal bark treatment only.
