PAK 27
PAK 27
PAK 27 by SePro is a garnular algaecide made for use in water reservoirs and bodies of water to control blue-green algae. This product is powerful and long lasting, and will be a great addition to any aquatic pest treatment.
Tools Needed
PAK 27 will need to be applied with a mechanical spreader.
How to Use
- Step 1: Measure and calculate the total gallons, or surface acres of the body of water you plan to apply to. This will determine how much product will need to be applied. Typically, you will use between 3 to 100 pounds per acre-foot.
- Step 2: Spread the product evenly over the desired area.
- Step 3: Reapply as necessary, but do not reapply within 48 hours. Remember to read the label for proper application times, and do not over apply. Overapplication may harm the aquatic life.
Where to Use
PAK 27 can be used in a wide variety of locations, including lakes, ponds, drinking water reservoirs, drainage ditches and more.
When to Use
PAK will be most effective when used during the first stages of algae forming, but it can be used during an active infestation as well. It may be necessary to apply more frequently if there is already an active infestation, refer to the label for proper application rates. Make applications of Pak 27 when 8 to 10 hours of daylight remains.
Safety Information
This product should not be applied in clumps, or allowed to remain on the shore line or grass adjacent to the water. This product can be corrosive to the beaks of birds, and can harm non-target plants and animals if not applied correctly. Always wear proper personal protective equipment anytime you handle the chemical, measure and mix the chemical, and apply the chemical.
Special Considerations
This product is intended to control blue-green algae. While it may kill other kinds of algae, it may not be the most effective method at controlling other species. Refer to the label for proper application rates, as this chemical is powerful and needs to be measured and mixed properly to avoid harming non-target plants and animals.

Keith's Pro Tips | "When treating a large body of water with a heavy algae bloom, be sure to only treat about a third or half of the area at a time, usually 2 or 3 days apart. When algae decays, it actually depletes the oxygen levels in the water which will harm the aquatic life. So we stagger our treatments so that the fish are not negatively affected." |
