Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator, manufactured by Quali-Pro, is a systemic plant growth regulator that reduces the need to mow and manage non-residential turfgrass and trees while also increasing fertilizer performance.

The flexibility of using this product gives professionals an advantage against scalping, mowing, and management of turf, which also helps to clean-up the overall appearance of treated properties with minimum labor and care.

Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator creates a dense, and well-managed outdoor environment by preventing non-residential turf and trees from growing 6-8 weeks, and improves the effects of fertilizers applied on treated areas for 12 weeks after application.

Tools Needed

To apply Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator, you will need to use a handheld pump sprayer, hose-end sprayer, backpack sprayer, injection equipment, or spray rig.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For turfgrasses, apply 6.4 to 48.0 fl. oz. of Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator per 100 gallons of water per acre. Do not apply more than 4 quarts of product per acre per year. Refer to the label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator, then fill in with the remaining half of water. Close the spray tank lid and shake until the solution is mixed. When mixing large amounts of this product, use a suspension aid to improve suspension of the diluted mixture.
  • Step 3: Spray the mixed Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator to the top and bottom of the turf leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. To treat trees, make a 2” deep furrow around the base of the tree near the point of contact between the soil and the tree trunk for basal drench treatments. Pour the product into the furrow then refill the furrow with untreated soil. For soil injections around trees, inject approximately 3-6 inches deep next to buttress roots. For trees less than 6 inches DBH, use at least 4 evenly spaced injection sites per tree. After this product application, water-in 0.25 inches of water within 24 hours to limit surface movement, but not to the point of runoff.

Where to Use

Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator can be used on established hybrid bermudagrass, bentgrass and perennial ryegrass fairways, tees and roughs, and on St. Augustinegrass and Kentucky bluegrass/perennial ryegrass turf areas. It may also be used on trees found in such areas as urban environments, utility rights-of-way, residential areas and other non-crop areas.

Do not use on residential turf, athletic fields, shrubs, flowers, fruits, or vegetable plants (applications to turf areas under trees will not affect/harm trees).

When to Use

Use Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator on anytime when warm-seasoned turfgrass are green, actively growing, and have recovered from dormancy (filled in fully following winter). Cool-seasoned turfgrass can be treated in spring after green-up and after turf has been mowed once or twice. Apply at least 1 month before onset of high air temperatures. In late summer/early fall, apply at least 1 month before anticipated first killing frost.

Applications to trees can be made throughout the year, weather permitting, except when the soil is frozen or saturated with water. If applications are made after fall leaf drop, uptake of this product will not occur until development of new leaves in the spring and resumption of evaporative water loss.

Safety Information

Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until 24 hours have passed after application.

Special Considerations

Excessive irrigation and/or nitrogen fertilization may shorten period of growth regulation with Pac-Low SC Plant Growth Regulator.

Do not seed within 6 weeks prior to or 2 weeks after application of this product.

Do not apply to overseeded bermudagrass greens after March 15th to avoid delay of spring green-up of dwarf-type bermudagrass.
