Osmocote Plus 15-9-12 (12-14M) Hi-Start, manufactured by ICL Specialty Fertilizer, is a powerful hi-start fertilizer for perennials, fast growing nursery plants, annual landscapes for healthier growth and deeper green color for up to 12 to 14 months with a single application.

Increases bloomage and production of a wide variety of commercial sensitive crops with its 15-9-12 npk formulation. Each granule contains a homogenous 100% resin coat, which releases nutrients slowly over time based on the soil temperature. This continues long after the foliage is sold or planted in landscapes, resulting in increased customer satisfaction and life of plants in market.

Osmocote Plus 15-9-12 (12-14M) Hi-Start results in stronger root development, and increased plant yield and health in both commercial settings and consumer ownership.

Tools Needed

Osmocote Plus 15-9-12 (12-14M) Hi-Start can be applied with either a handheld spreader or push spreader.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Osmocote Plus 15-9-12 (12-14M) Hi-Start to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To find the cubic yard, measure the length, width, and depth of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together and then divide the total by 27 (length X width X depth = total / 27 = cubic yard). Depending on the plant container sizes and how many there are in the treatment area will vary in application rates so it would be best to refer to the product label. To treat 539 of 6" azalea / hibiscus (1.5 qt.), apply either 10, 14, or 18 grams of Osmocote Plus 15-9-12 (12-14M) per cubic yard. To treat larger containers about 10 gallon (17" diam.), use 188, 259, or 337 grams of product per 1.4 sq. ft.
  • Step 2: Adjust the spreader the calibration to the proper ratio in its product manual. Load the proper amount of Osmocote Plus 15-9-12 (12-14M).
  • Step 3: Spread the Osmocote Plus 15-9-12 (12-14M) Hi-Start across the top layer of soil or thoroughly mix into the soil, but do not apply this product near the plants stem. After application, lightly water the granules in to activate them.
