Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (8-9M)
Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (8-9M)
Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (8-9M), manufactured by ICL Specialty Fertilizers, is a powerful quickstart granule fertilizer that works to release essential nutrients over 8-9 months for outdoor container plants and landscapes.
These 18-5-12 npk 100% resin-coated nutrient cores will take-in moisture then slowly feed plants for up to 9 months, but will immediately dispel nutrients to help establish new and actively growing foliage. Additionally, this product will also offset the nitrogen draw of green bark.
Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (8-9M) is a top quality resin coated fertilizer combined with needed micronutrients to promote thick and rich colored foliage.
Tools Needed
To apply Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (8-9M), you will need either a handheld spreader or push spreader.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (8-9M) to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To find the cubic yard, measure the length, width, and depth of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together and then divide the total by 27 (length X width X depth = total / 27 = cubic yard). Depending on the plant container sizes and how many there are in the treatment area will vary in application rates so it would be best to refer to the product label. To treat about 850 of 1 quart containers, apply either 4, 6, or 8 grams of Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (8-9M) per cubic yard. Larger containers that are 10 gallons with a 17" diameter and a surface area of 1.4 sq. ft., use 110, 173, or 235 grams of product. For nursery and landscape applications, apply 11.0 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Calibrate your spreader to the desired spreader rating as instructed on its manual. Load Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (8-9M) into the spreader.
- Step 3: Apply the Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (8-9M) granules as a topdress to the soil layer until an even coating is made. After application, water granules in with a light amount of irrigation. Reapply this product according to your average soil temperature.
