Orthene PCO Pellets
Orthene PCO Pellets are a powerful insecticide that can readily be mixed with water to control various industrial and pantry insects, such as cockroaches and ants. One box contains ten 1.4-ounce packs.
03/12/26
Orthene PCO Pellets by Amvac is a water-soluble granule insecticide that targets a wide range of pests, including earwigs and pesticide-resistant German cockroaches, in industrial, institutional, and commercial settings like hotels and retail stores.
The pre-measured packs contain 97.4% acephate, which blocks acetylcholinesterase, disrupting insect nervous systems and causing death.
Designed for lasting effectiveness, Orthene PCO Pellets provide residual control on tile, stainless steel, and other nonporous surfaces, ideal for sensitive environments such as commercial kitchens.
Tools Needed
Use a handheld pump sprayer or backpack sprayer for application.
How to Use
- Step 1: Measure the treatment area to select the proper dilution rate. Use a 0.75% spray for light infestations on nonporous surfaces and a 1.0% spray for heavy infestations. To prepare: 0.5% concentration = 19.5 g (half packet) per gallon of water; 0.75% = 29.3 g (three-quarters packet) per gallon; 1.0% = 39 g (one full packet) per gallon. For ant mound treatments, dissolve one packet (1.4 oz.) in 9 gallons of water. Check the product label for exact rates.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer halfway with water, add the unopened packet of Orthene PCO Pellets, then fill with the remaining water. Shake the sprayer to mix the solution evenly.
- Step 3: Once the pellets dissolve fully, apply the spray where insects travel. For perimeter treatments, spray a soil band 6-10 ft. wide adjacent to the structure and 2-3 ft. up the foundation. For ant mound drench, apply 1 gallon of solution per mound, soaking the mound and a 4 ft. surrounding area. Limit mound treatments to once per season. For spot treatments, use a fan spray setting and cover no more than 2 sq. ft. per spot. Treat areas like baseboards, under/behind appliances, storage spaces, sinks, cabinets, windows, doors, and water pipes. Include undersides of drawers and shelves where cockroaches are present.
Where to Use
Suitable for use in industrial, institutional, and commercial buildings such as restaurants, warehouses, stores, hospitals, hotels, manufacturing facilities, and ships. Can be applied as a residual spray or with a paintbrush on building surfaces, window frames, shutters, entryways, screens, eaves, patios, garages, carports, garbage areas, and other pest-prone spaces.
Approved for Federally Inspected Meat and Poultry Plants and other non-residential locations where exposed food is handled, processed, prepared, or served.
Not for indoor residential use or use in feed processing areas of feed handling facilities.
When to Use
Apply Orthene PCO Pellets when facilities are closed and no food is exposed. Begin spraying when pest activity is detected. For outdoor applications, spray early morning or late afternoon when pests like ants are most active.
Safety Information
Orthene PCO Pellets are safe around children and pets when used as directed on the product label. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during mixing and application.
Avoid allowing children or pets to contact treated surfaces until sprays have dried completely.
Special Considerations
Effectiveness against cockroaches may take 3 to 7 days to reach full impact.
Do not apply directly to carpet to prevent staining. Avoid treating unpainted masonry floors in poorly ventilated areas like garages or basements, especially where moisture or high humidity exists, as effectiveness is reduced on porous surfaces.
Not for use on residential turf as a perimeter treatment.
