Tools Needed

NutriStar Palm and Ornamental Grasses Plant Food 11-4-6 can be used with a chemical measuring cup, handheld spreader, or directly from the container itself.

How to Use 

• Step 1: Determine how much NutriStar Palm and Ornamental Grasses Plant Food 11-4-6 to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For trees in ground, use 1/2 cup of NutriStar Palm and Ornamental Grasses Plant Food 11-4-6 per 10 sq. ft. or 5 cups of product per 100 sq. ft. To treat a single tree, use 1 tablespoon of product per 1 inch hole. Refer the label for specific rates.
• Step 2: Calibrate the handheld spreader to the proper ratio. Load the proper amount of NutriStar Palm and Ornamental Grasses Plant Food 11-4-6 into your spreader or chemical measuring cup.
• Step 3: Distribute NutriStar Palm and Ornamental Grasses Plant Food 11-4-6 evenly over planted area and water thoroughly for trees in ground, ornamental grasses, and other non-trees. To treat a single tree, you will need to make a 1-inch hole that is 6-12 inches deep and 3 feet apart under the drip line. Place the proper amount of product into each hole and water thoroughly after each application. 

Where to Use

NutriStar Palm and Ornamental Grasses Plant Food 11-4-6 can be used on palms and ornamental grasses, including but not limited to bananas, Canary Island palms, fishtail palms, Mediterranean fan palms, Mexican fan palms, palmettos, pampas grass and sago palms.

When to Use

Apply NutriStar Palm and Ornamental Grasses Plant Food 11-4-6 three times per year: spring, summer and early fall. This would be from February to November.
