Nimitz

Tools Needed

To use Nimitz Pro G, you need to apply it in a spreader. A push spreader is recommended for large areas. A drop spreader will assure the most accurate application of the product.

How to Use

Spreading Nimitz Granules on turf

  • Step 1: Determine how much Nimitz you will need by calculating the acreage or square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will need to calculate the square footage first by measuring and multiplying the area length times the width (length x width = square footage) and then taking the number and dividing by 43,560 to get acreage (Square footage / 43,560 = Acreage).  Nimitz should be applied at a rate of 60-120 lbs per acre. For smaller areas, Nimitz can be applied at a rate of 1.38 - 2.75 lb per 1,000 sq. ft.
  • Step 2: In your spreader, load the Nimitz Granules the rate based on your area calculations. Push the spreader over the treatment area, minimizing overlap as much as possible to ensure the turf receives the correct rate of Nimitz.
  • Step 3: After you have applied the granules to the entire area, properly irrigate the treated area immediately afterward with 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch of water.

Where to Use

Nimitz can be used on a variety of soils and turfgrasses. It can be used on golf course greens, tee boxes, fairways, sports fields, commercial turfgrass, residential lawns and sod farms.

When to Use

Use Nimitz when you are dealing with nematodes on your lawn. Avoid applying Nimitz if heavy rains are expected with 24 hours of application.

Safety Information

Nimitz Pro G is safe to use when applied according to label directions. Please wear the proper PPE before mixing and applying.

Special Considerations

Nimitz Pro G is packaged in 40-pound buckets and is formulated on a Biodac granule for optimal greening.

  1. Q:is this product being discontinued?
    7/17/20
  2. Q:is nimitz pro g still legal in fl ?
    2/17/20
A:To the best of my knowledge, yes. If it were not the supplier would not be able to sell it in, Fl. I have used it on vegetables here in Fl with good to excellent results. The EC is labeled for most everything, the granules for turf. The formulation of both is the same so I use them interchangeably.

  7. Q:How successful is Nimitz when delivered by a drip system?
    1/15/18
A:It is not labeled for application in a drip system as a delivery method. Treated areas must be irrigated following applications in order to get the active ingredient into the root zone and soil. Irrigation amounts are variable depending on turfgrass thatch/density but generally 0.5 inch of water is adequate. Aerifications prior (1-10 days) to application have been shown to increase speed and improve control.

  10. Q:Will I need 3 or 4 of these to treat 15 acres?
    7/20/17
A:The rate for application is 60-120 pounds of Nimitz product per acre. Treated areas must be irrigated following applications in order to get the active ingredient into the root zone and soil.
