Navigator SC
Navigator SC
Navigator SC, manufactured by Amvac, is a long-lasting termiticide and insecticide that provides effective pre- and post-construction termite control, killing a variety of subterranean termites and a broad spectrum of perimeter pests like ants or cockroaches for up to 90 days.
Features the active ingredient Fipronil 9.1%, which is especially effective in controlling termites. As a non-repellent insecticide, pests like termites and cockroaches will unknowingly come into contact with the insecticide and spread it to others in the nest through contact or food sharing for total colony elimination. Due to its efficiency and durability, this professional termiticide can be used up to a maximum of 4 applications, remaining in treated soil for up to 1 year to fight against termites. This is further seen with outdoor perimeter treatments only needed to be applied twice a year.
Navigator SC can easily be mixed as a trenching solution, a spray solution, or a foaming agent to kill targeted insects like termites in wood, walls, slabs, and foundations. This low-cost termiticide and inseciticide can also kill other pests like ants and those in the colony in just a few weeks by this products unique non-repellent effect, making it an economical product.
Tools Needed
To use Navigator SC, you will need a hand-held pump sprayer, a backpack sprayer, or a professional spraying rig for large-volume applications.
To establish a complete exterior perimeter treatment, you may also need sub-slab injection equipment to drill and inject the product under concrete. If using Navigator SC as a trenching solution, you will need a pickaxe or shovel to dig the trench and a bucket with at least a 5-gallon capacity to mix and apply the product.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Navigator SC you will need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square feet). To control termites through trenching, use the 0.06% dilution and apply at a rate of 4 gallons of dilution of Navigator SC per 10 linear feet per foot of depth. For general exterior perimeter applications, apply 2 quarts of 0.06% finished spray dilution per 160 linear feet (approximately 1.5 gallons of finished spray per 1000 sq. feet).
- Step 2: For exterior surface spraying with a one-gallon sprayer, fill your sprayer about 1/4 of the way full with water. Then add the measured amount of Navigator SC to the sprayer. Fill the sprayer the rest of the way with the remaining half of water, close the sprayer, and shake to ensure an even mix. For termite trenching applications, mix the appropriate amount of product and water in a bucket. We recommend using a 5-gallon bucket so that your solution will not be filled to the brim and you can avoid spilling the product.
- Step 3: For exterior spraying, apply the mixed Navigator SC as a low-pressure, coarse spray. Spray up to an 18-inch wide band around common insect entry points, such as around doors, windows, vents, where plumbing and wires penetrate walls, and any other openings. Also, treat the perimeter of the structure by spraying one foot up the structure and one foot out. For termite trenching applications, dig a trench around the structure's perimeter 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep. Hang on to the displaced dirt as it will be used to backfill the trench after application. It is helpful to create a dam with the soil within your trench every 10 feet to section off each 10-foot stretch since you will be applying 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet. Pour your finished Navigator SC solution into each 10-foot stretch of the trench. Then back fill the trench with the displaced soil. Pack it down tight to ensure adequate distribution.
Where to Use:
Navigator SC can be used on outside surfaces and along foundation perimeters, but can only be used indoors when treating label-specified applications for termite control and foam applications to wall voids.
Apply an overall treatment of Navigator SC to the entire surface to be covered by the concrete slab. This includes living area, as well as, carports, porches, basement floors, and any extended entrances. For vertical treated zones before laying down concrete slabs this could be around anything penetrating the slab, such as, utility services and plumbing lines.
For post-construction treatments, apply this product along the foundation walls, around pillars and around other foundation elements. To establish a complete exterior perimeter treatment zone along the foundation wall, drill any exterior concrete structures adjoining the foundation, such as patios, porches and sidewalks, and, treat by sub-slab injection.
Do not use this product on golf course turf. May be used for control of termites and other listed pests found on/near structures associated with golf courses, but only as specified on this label. Nor apply this product in voids insulated with rigid foam.
Do not treat fruit or nut bearing trees.
When to Use:
Navigator SC should be used as a preventative treatment to keep termite infestations away or to eliminate active termite infestations in wood. It may also be used for pre-construction treatment or post-construction treatment of a structure.
Applications of this product should not be made when there is rainfall predicted for 24 hours after treatment or when the soil is saturated or frozen.
Safety Information
Navigator SC is safe to use around children and pets when it is applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or making applications.
Do not allow residents, children, other people, or pets into the treatment area until the sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
All holes in commonly occupied areas into which Navigator SC has been applied must be plugged. Plugs must be of a non-cellulose material or covered by an impervious, non-cellulose material.
Navigator SC is not for indoor use, except when there is an active termite and ant infestation in wall voids only.
