Nautique Copper Herbicide
Nautique Copper Herbicide
Nautique Copper Herbicide, manufactured by SEPRO Technologies, is a chelated copper-based herbicide used to control various aquatic weeds and algae.
This fast-acting aquatic herbicide works by absorbing into the plant's tissue through contact. The copper will disrupt the plant's photosynthesis, starving and killing the plant within 3 to 14 days.
This is safe to use in still or flowing potable and non-potable bodies of water to control a variety of floating, emergent, and submersed weeds and algae.
Tools Needed
Nautique Copper Herbicide can be used through various application methods for surface and sub-surface spraying. It is recommended to use either a tank sprayer or weighted hose depending on your chosen application method.
How to Use
- Step 1: First, determine which weed or weeds that require control. Then measure the body of water's surface area and depth. Your application rate will vary on targeted plant, plant density, and the water body's volume.
- Step 2: This aquatic herbicide can be applied diluted or non-diluted. Read the label for proper mix and application rates for the body of water's volume and your targeted weed(s).
- Step 3: For surface spraying, target the weed being sure to use adequate spray volume to cover the targeted plant. When spraying flowing water surface, spray the chemical against the flow of water. For sub-surface spraying, it is recommended to use a weighted hose to treat submersed plants. Carefully read ALL label instructions for proper mix and application rates and application methods for your particular needs.
Where to Use
Nautique Copper Herbicide can be used in potable and non-potable flowing or still bodies of water, such as lakes, reservoirs, ponds, drainage systems, and more. Please see label for full list of labeled use sites.
When to Use
Use Nautique Copper Herbicide when there is low to high density of undesirable submersed, emergent, or floating weeds.
Safety Information
Nautique is safe to use in bodies of water that contain fish, shrimp, and other aquatic life. Be sure to read the label for mixing rates that are safe to use in water bodies that contain any aquatic life. When using this chemical, always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical resistant gloves, eye protection, skin protection, and respirator masks. This herbicide can cause serious injury when direct contact is made.
Special Considerations
This is a potent herbicide that will affect any plant that it comes into contact with. When applying this product, take care to not allow it to drift and contact any desirable plants. The applicator must factor wind speeds, weather conditions, and method of application when planning to treat with Nautique Copper Herbicide.

Keith's Pro Tips | "Nautique Copper Herbicide can be used with other herbicides and algaecides that are labeled for use in bodies of water and do not restrict chemical mixing. This will give Nautique Copper a broader spectrum of control. You can even use this with adjuvants, such as surfactants or penetrants, to increase the herbicide's effectiveness." |
Product Drawbacks | Nautique Copper Herbicide can kill or contaminate plants that come into contact with the herbicide. When applying, be sure to no directly spray or allow unintended plants to come into contact with the chemical. |
