Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide (previously known as Agri-Fos Systemic Fungicide), manufactured by Monterey, is a quality systemic fungicide that helps ornamentals, fruits, and bedding plants to thrive against phytophthora and pythium diseases and more.

This multipurpose fungicide strives to create easy and efficient protection from diseases such as anthracnose with the potent active ingredient mono- and di-potassium salts of phosphorous acid 45.8%.

Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide is a systemic fungicide that offers residential homeowners growing foliage dependable curative and preventative control against diseases within 7 to 14 days.

Tools Needed

Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide can be used with various application equipment such as hydraulic sprayers, handheld pump-type sprayers, backpack sprayers, or hose-end sprayers.

Some foliage listed on the label must be treated with Pentra-Bark as well, which is sold separately.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To treat citrus, fruit, nut, and vegetables, use 2 1/2 to 5 tsp. of Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide in a gallon of water to remove root and collar, and fire blight diseases. For fruiting vegetables such as eggplants, use 1 fl. oz. of product in 1 gallon of water. For landscape applications, use 16 fl. oz. of product and 1 fl. oz. of Pentra Bark Bark Penetrating Surfactant in 16 fl. oz. of water. For ornamental applications, use 2 to 4 tsp. of product per gallon of water. For home lawns, use 5 to 10 fl. oz. of product in 1-5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the required amount of Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide, then pour in the remaining half of water. After closing the tank lid, agitate the spray tank until completely mixed.
  • Step 3: As a foliar spray, make applications of the mixed Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide until the foliage is completely covered to the point of runoff. For injections, drill holes 3/16 inch (5 mm) in diameter and 1 inch (25 mm) to 2 inches (50 mm) deep with slight downward angle in trunk. Place syringes in the main trunk of the tree and space evenly around the circumference of the trunk. Repeat applications may be necessary, but this will depend on the foliage as stated on the product label.

Where to Use

Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide can be used on ornamentals, trees, vegetables, fruits, and bedding plants.

Do not apply to ferns that are starting to die down (senesce).

When to Use

Apply Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide to foliage that is well-established and when conditions are favorable to disease (cool wet conditions) or when disease is evident.

Make applications in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours. Do not prune back trees before injection process as burning of new growth may occur. Do not inject trees in winter. Do not irrigate or mow treated lawn areas until spray has completely dried.

Safety Information

Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not graze animals on treated areas of lawn. Do not feed treated lawn clippings to poultry or livestock.
