Moccasin MTZ Herbicide, manufactured by United Phosphorous, is a high-powered herbicide that provides outstanding pre-emergent control in a broad-spectrum of weeds in potatoes and soybeans.

Features two effective modes of action with S-metolachlor and metribuzin, which increases efficiency on multiple broadleaf and grassy weeds like crabgrass, annual bluegrass, and sandbur. 

Moccasin MTZ Herbicide is a long-lasting residual pre-emergent solution with flexible application options against problematic weeds for the standard commercial grower.

To apply Moccasin MTZ Herbicide, you will need to use a spray rig or chemigation system.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Moccasin MTZ Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For general pre-emergent and post-emergent control in potoatoes and soybeans, use 1.75 pints of Moccasin MTZ Herbicide per 10 gallons of water per acre. Refer the label for specific rates. 
• Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Moccasin MTZ Herbicide, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the spray tank lid and agitate until the solution is well-mixed.
• Step 3: Spray the Moccasin MTZ Herbicide mixture above the treatment area until the top 2 inches of soil is covered. After application, lightly irrigate treated areas with 1/4 to 1/2 inches of water.

When to Use

Apply Moccasin MTZ Herbicide before weeds appear, after planting but before crop emergence, or apply after drag-off if this operation is part of the usual cultural practice.

Safety Information 

Moccasin MTZ Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Do not let people or pets enter treated areas for 1 day after application. 

Special Considerations

To help avoid rotational crop injury, make applications as early as possible, since Moccasin MTZ Herbicide impregnated onto dry bulk fertilizers can be expected to last longer in the soil than this product applied as a spray in water or fluid fertilizer.
