The MistAway GEN II RFID Smart Coupler is a replacement part for the MistAway Gen II Mosquito Misting System Tankless Unit. The Smart Coupler is reads the RFID data from the insecticide cartridge bottle's Smart Cap once it snaps into the coupler and passes the information on to the main controller to display how much concentrate is remaining in the bottle and the correct dosage that should be output based on the way the system was programmed by the owner. When the coupler fails to work, the controller does not know how much insecticide is left and cannot communicate with the contoller and keep track of the essential data to let the operator know when a refill is needed.
Tools Needed
To install the Smart Coupler you will need a screwdriver to open up the system and access the interior of the unit.
How to Use
- Step 1: Use the screwdriver to undo the controller and reposition the shroud so you can get into the system.
- Step 2: Remove the insecticide concentrate bottle from the coupler by pressing the release button undo the Smart Coupler by carefully unscrewing it from it's mount.
- Step 3: Replace with the new Smart Coupler and make sure it is tightly secure.
- Step 4: Reassemble the Misting unit and then test the system to make sure it is working properly.
Where to Use
The Smart Coupler is located inside the tankless system between the tubing element the smart cap where the Tip N Measure Bottle is to be placed. The bottle snaps into Gen 3 coupler when you open the unit for refilling.
When to Use
Replace the Smart Coupler when there is an issue when snapping in the Tip N Measure Bottle and the controller is unable to read or display the data that is supposed to come from the RFID tag.

The Smart Coupler is safe to use and easy to install. Make sure that the unit is not on when replacing the coupler.
Special Considerations
The Smart Coupler will not work on an Original Gen III, only the Gen II unit.
