09/07/25
Minx 2 Miticide Insecticide, manufactured by Nufarm, is an effective microemulsion miticide and insecticide that provides broad-spectrum control of mites and leafminers while also suppressing aphids, whiteflies, and thrips on ornamentals.
The active ingredient is abamectin, a proven miticide/insecticide that works both on contact and systemically to reach pests where they hide. What makes it especially valuable is its new low VOC, water-based formula of abamectin, which not only improves environmental safety but also provides better usability compared to many other abamectin products on the market.
Minx 2 Miticide Insecticide is a specially engineered miticide and insecticide that combines advanced formulation technology with proven reliability for results that ornamental growers and applicators can see and trust. Its dual-action contact plus systemic ensures complete mite and leafminer control, while also suppressing other ornamental pests.
Tools Needed
You will need a boom sprayer, spray rig, backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or hose-end sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Minx 2 Miticide Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Depending on the pest, apply 4.0 or 8.0 fl. oz. of Minx 2 Miticide Insecticide per 100 gallons of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of the plant leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Make repeat applications at 7-day intervals for up to three weeks.
Where to Use
Minx 2 Miticide Insecticide can be used on shadehouse, greenhouse, and field-grown ornamentals, foliage plants, Christmas trees, and other woody ornamental plants.
When to Use
Apply when pests first appear and repeat as necessary to maintain control.
Safety Information
