Meridian 0.33G Insecticide
Meridian 0.33G Insecticide
Meridian 0.33G Inseciticide, manufactured by Syngenta, provides a simple and effective way to control turf pests, making it useful in large and small volume application.
This is a systemic granular insecticide that kills through contact or ingestion. This has a broad label and will affect a large variety of pests. Easy to apply and doesn't need to be mixed.
Tools Needed
Meridian is a granular insecticide, and it can be used with hand spreaders or push spreaders for household use, or in large volume spreaders for use in golf courses or other large turf areas.
How to Use
- Step 1: Measure the square feet of the desired area, as this will determine how much product will need to be used in the area. If the ground is dry, it may be necessary to lightly water the area before application.
- Step 2: Application rates will vary, but typically, you will put anywhere between 7 to 9 pounds of Merit per 5,000 square feet or around 1.5 to 2 bags per acre. Evenly distribute the product over the desired areas. Be sure no to let the product clump or pile up.
- Step 3: If rain is in the forecast it may not be necessary to water after application, but if not it is necessary to water the site to allow the product to uniformly soak into the soil.
- Step 4: Reapply as needed. Refer to the label for proper reapplication times, depending on the targeted pest and the location.
Where to Use
Meridian can be applied in small volume over home lawns and ornamental gardens, or in large volumes such as golf course greens, commercials grounds, and gardens. Refer to the label for a full list of applicable sites.
When to Use
In most cases, Meridian can be applied at any time of the year where you have pest problems. For some insects, like grubs and mole crickets, it may be necessary to time the application and irrigation depending on when the pests will be moving to the surface.
Safety Information
Be sure to wear proper personal protective equipment any time you are handling the product, measuring the product, or applying the product. Remember to keep all pets and people off the treated areas until the product has been watered and dried.
Special Considerations
Some pests require the product to be applied at specific times through the year, so it is important to know which pest you want to control, and to read the label before application to ensure proper treatment.
