Meridian 25WG Insecticide

Meridian 25WG Insecticide, manufactured by Syngenta, is a highly effective water-dispersable granule insecticide that provides complete pest protection in turf within 24 hours of application. 

This foliar and systemic insecticide offers a wide application window, allowing for flexibility in timing to achieve optimal insect control. With the active ingredient thiamethoxam, this product operates through both ingestion and contact, ensuring comprehensive pest control by affecting insects at multiple stages of their lifecycle.

It can be applied with a backpack sprayer, hose-end sprayer, or spray rig. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Meridian 25WG Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For broadcast applications to turf, use 3 to 4 oz. of Meridian 25WG Insecticide per 50 gallons of water per 10,000 sq. ft. For foliar applications to interiorscapes and landscape ornamental plants, apply 4 to 8.5 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. 
• Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the required water volume. Add the appropriate amount of product, then add the remaining water while maintaining agitation. Be sure the solution is completely dissolved in water before application.
• Step 3: Broadcast evenly over the treated area to the point of wet but not runoff. Irrigate within 3 days of treatment (optimally within 24 hours) to move Meridian 25WG into the root zone of plants or to the location of soil-dwelling pests. Do not over-irrigate during the first seven days after treatment, or reduced efficacy may occur. Repeat applications as necessary to maintain control, but no sooner than every 7 days.

Where to Use

Meridian 25WG Insecticide can be used in turfgrass, sod farms, interiorscape and landscape plants.

Do not use in the commercial nursery production of ornamental plants.

When to Use

Apply when you first notice pest activity on days when rainfall is not expected to occur within the next 48 hours of application. 

Safety Information

Meridian 25WG Insecticide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until the spray completely dries. 

Special Considerations

Because residues on leaf surfaces are quickly degraded, this product is compatible with beneficial arthropods.

On hard-to-wet plants, spray adjuvants that improve wetting of foliage are recommended. Do not use spray adjuvants that may bind Meridian 25WG to the leaf surface, which would limit absorption into the foliage.
