Marathon II Insecticide
Marathon ll Insecticide is a long-lasting, systemic insecticide that provides 3 to 4 weeks weeks of control with foliar applications or up to 12 weeks of protection when applied to the soil, effectively targeting piercing, sucking, and soil-inhabiting pests in greenhouses, nurseries, and interiorscapes.
10/28/25
Marathon ll Insecticide, manufactured by OHP, is an effective, systemic insecticide concentrate that delivers instant knockdown and up to 12 weeks of control against a broad range of pests on ornamentals, vegetables, and fruiting plants in greenhouses, nurseries, and interiorscapes.
This multi-functional neonicotinoid insecticide contains Imidacloprid 21.4%, which targets the nervous system of pests by disrupting their ability to transmit nerve signals, leading to paralysis and death. It is especially effective against sucking and piercing insects such as aphids, whiteflies, Japanese beetles, and more providing both contact and ingestion control for rapid and long-lasting pest suppression.
Marathon ll Insecticide is an excellent flowable insecticide that tackles common destructive pests on ornamentals, fruit and nut trees, and vegetables. Instead of fighting pests week after week, applicators can apply once and enjoy weeks of protection. It’s that combination of peace of mind, plant safety, and reliability that makes it such a strong choice.
Tools Needed
A handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, hose-end sprayer, spray rig, or chemigation system will be needed.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Marathon ll Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For ornamentals, apply 0.45 to 0.6 fl. oz. of Marathon ll Insecticide per 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. or 1.7 fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed.
- Step 3: For foliage applications, spray the top and bottom of the leaves until wet. Do not spray to the point of runoff. To make drench applications, spray around the base of the foliage.
Where to Use
Marathon ll Insecticide can be used in greenhouse, nurseries, interior plantscapes, and similar type areas on ornamentals, fruit and nut trees, and vegetable plants.
When to Use
Apply when pests are active or before they appear.
If you do not plan to irrigate yourself, then time applications when rainfall is expected to occur within 24 hours of application.
Safety Information
Marathon ll Insecticide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets out of the treated area until 24 hours have passed after application.
Special Considerations
Remove plastic or any other barrier that will stop the solution from reaching the root zone for soil drench applications.
