Manzate Pro-Stick
Manzate Pro-Stick is a broad spectrum contact fungicide which can be used to treat diseases in a broad range of agricultural crops and turfgrasses.
09/09/26
Manzate Pro-Stick is a powerful group M3 fungicide constructed as dispersible granules designed to provide long-lasting, effective disease control for a broad range of agricultural crops and turfgrasses.
The active ingredient, Mancozeb (75%), works by targeting fungal pathogens on contact to prevent and control many economically important plant diseases such as Anthracnose, Leaf Spot, Downy Mildew, Rust, and many others. This multi-site fungicide mode of action reduces the risk of resistance development, making it ideal for integrated pest management programs.
Tools Needed
Application tools include ground or aerial spray equipment capable of delivering 20 to 100 gallons per acre for ground equipment and not less than 2 gallons per acre for aerial application. Continuous agitation of the spray tank is necessary to keep the fungicide evenly suspended during application. Protective clothing such as gloves, long sleeves, and chemical-resistant gear along with eye protection and respiratory devices are strongly recommended to minimize exposure.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine the appropriate application rate specific to your crop and disease, ranging generally from 0.75 to 6.4 lbs product per acre per application, following label guidelines for your specific crop.
- Step 2: Mix Manzate Pro-Stick into the spray tank slowly with agitation to ensure even suspension. Use adequate water to achieve thorough coverage, about 20 to 100 gallons per acre for ground applications.
- Step 3: Apply fungicide uniformly over the crop foliage prioritizing both upper and lower leaf surfaces to ensure full coverage. Timing of applications is critical: initiate at the first signs of disease or when conditions favor fungal development and repeat at recommended intervals, usually 7 to 10 days, or as specified for the crop.
- Step 4: Follow restrictions on maximum seasonal rates and number of applications as outlined for each crop to prevent phytotoxicity and resistance buildup.
Where to Use
Manzate Pro-Stick is recommended for a wide array of crops including tree fruits (apple, pear), vegetables (cabbage, lettuce, tomato, peppers, onion, potato), small fruits (grape, cranberry), tropical fruits, and turfgrasses such as sod farms. It effectively controls fungal diseases in greenhouses, nurseries, and outdoor agricultural fields, but is not for use on food areas or lawns intended for grazing livestock.
When to Use
Apply at the earliest stages of disease or proactively when weather conditions favor disease outbreaks. The fungicide is suitable for pre-plant, post-plant, and protective spray programs depending on the crop and disease pressure. Avoid application during strong winds, heavy rain, or when plants are under stress.
Safety Information
Always use personal protective equipment—including gloves, long sleeves, eye protection, and respiratory protection when mixing and applying. Avoid inhaling dust or spray mist and wash thoroughly after handling. Do not allow entry into treated areas until sprays are dry. Store in a locked, cool, dry place away from incompatible substances like strong oxidizing agents and acids.
Special Considerations
This fungicide should not be applied to crops shortly before harvest beyond specified preharvest intervals. It is compatible with many common fungicides and insecticides but follow tank mixing guidelines carefully to avoid phytotoxicity.
Manzate Pro-Stick is not recommended for use on grasses grown for seed or grazing. Applications on sod farms must adhere to restricted intervals and maximum application limits. Care should be taken to prevent contamination of water sources due to its toxicity to aquatic life.
