The Male Plug for Spray Guns is manufactured by Dixon Manufacturing and is a specialized male plug fitting meant to connect to spray guns such as the JD9 spray gun, among others. After being attached to a gun, it can then connect to a quick-connect coupler which would then connect to a spray hose of professional skid sprayers and spraying rigs. The part is made from stainless steel and necessary to complete a connection for spray rig applications. While it is labeled for the JD9 Gun, the plug can also be used for other gun types. The plugs come in two sizes on the male thread end—3/8" and 1/2".

Tools Needed

To use the Male Plug for Spray Guns, you will need the JD9 gun or other applicable spray tool or gun to attach the plug to as well as a Hanson quick connect coupler to also attach.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Start by applying Teflon tape onto the threads of the plug before attaching it onto any gun. Once that is done, attach the male plug to a compatible spray gun by taking the threaded end and twisting it onto the opening on the bottom of the gun. Use a wrench if needed to make sure there is a secure fit.
  • Step 2: Once the plug is connected and secured tight you can then connect the Quick disconnect coupler to the male plug which should already be installed onto the hose you are using to attach the new plug.
  • Step 3: After the gun to hose connection has been made and is secure, you are now ready to spray.

Where to Use

The Male Plug for Spray Gun can be used on the JD9 gun but the fitting can also be used for other gun types in order to connect the gun securely to a hose and coupler for professional spraying rig pesticide applications.

When to Use

Use the Male Plug for Spray Gun when you are looking to connect your JD9 gun or other applicable gun types to a pesticide spraying rig hose for large volume spray applications.

Safety Information

Male Plug for Spray Gun is safe to use when installed as intended to the spray gun tool. When conducting spray applications with a pesticide spraying rig, be sure to wear proper PPE before spraying (gloves, protective eyewear, safety mask, etc.)

Special Considerations

To get a tighter seal or prevent any possible leaking, use Teflon tape after installing the plug. Make sure you are buying the correct size male plug to fit your gun. For example, the JD9 gun has a 1/2" female end, so a 3/8" plug will not connect to a JD9 gun.

Male end for quick connect is 1/2" in diameter.
