Magus Miticide
Magus Miticide is a unique broad-spectrum miticide that effectively controls mites and whiteflies in various ornamental crops and non-bearing tree fruits and nuts in commercial, public, and industrial settings.
04/10/26
Magus Miticide, manufactured by Gowan, is a powerful, fast-acting miticide that eliminates mites and whiteflies in commercial greenhouses, nurseries, and speciality crops in the field.
This suspension concentrate miticide contains Fenazaquin, a unique compound in the quinazoline class of acaricides. It works by disrupting mitochondrial energy production in pests. It specifically inhibits Complex I of the electron transport chain, which stops ATP synthesis, essentially starving pests of energy, leading to paralysis and death.
Magus Miticide delivers superior mite and whitefly control without harming the crop’s ecosystem. For anyone managing greenhouses, nurseries, or ornamental landscapes where mites and whiteflies are a recurring issue, Magus Miticide offers speed, reliability, and peace of mind. And when it comes to protecting the beauty and marketability of your plants, that peace of mind is priceless.
Tools Needed
You will need a machine ground spray application (open cab groundboom), ground spray application (open cab airblast sprayer), high-pressure hand wand sprayer, or backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Magus Miticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 = acres). For mite control, apply at a rate of 12 to 24 fl. oz. of Magus Miticide per 100 gallons of water, which translates to 12 to 24 fl. oz. of product per acre per cropping, or approximately 0.28 to 0.55 fl. oz. of product per 2.3 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet. For whiteflies, use a slightly higher rate of 18 to 24 fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water, also equating to 18 to 24 fl. oz. of product per acre per cropping, or 0.41 to 0.55 fl. oz. of product per 2.3 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of the leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Do not make more than one application per cropping.
Where to Use
Magus Miticide can be used for ornamental plants (greenhouse, shade houses), Christmas tree plantations and ornamental plants (field grown, outdoor), non-bearing tree fruits and nuts (field grown and nursery), and Established Ornamental Landscape Plantings (including those in: interiorscapes, residences, public areas, commercial areas, institutional areas, industrial areas, rights of way and other easements, and recreational sites such as campgrounds, golf courses, parks and athletic fields).
When to Use
Apply when pests are active.
