Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Herbicide
Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Herbicide is a powerful post-emergent herbicide that controls difficult weed species in ornamentals, golf course, and turf.
10/18/25
Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Herbicide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a professional selective post-emergent herbicide that eliminates weeds in warm-seasoned and cool-seasoned turf.
Contains the active ingredient clopyralid, which is known for its selective control of broadleaf weeds while preserving desirable turfgrass and ornamental plants. This systemic herbicide works by disrupting the growth processes of targeted weeds, leading to their gradual decline and eventual elimination.
Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Herbicide is a low-odor herbicide offering outstanding weed control and excellent turf tolerance giving applicators a peace of mind during applications.
Tools Needed
Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Herbicide can be used with a backpack sprayer, pump sprayer, or professional-grade spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For broadcast applications to non-crop areas, use 1/4 to 1 1/3 pint of Lontrel Turf and Ornamental per 20 gallons of water per acre. Use a non-ionic surfactant in spray mixtures at 1 to 2 quarts per 100 gallons of spray mixture. Refer the label for specific rates.
- Step 2: Add the measured amount of Lontrel Herbicide to the required volume of water in a mixing tank or sprayer. Agitate the mixture thoroughly to ensure proper dispersion of the herbicide.
- Step 3: Directly spray Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Herbicide to individual weeds, avoiding contact with desirable plants when performing spot applications. When treating larger areas, ensure even coverage of this product across the entire area.
