Landmark XP Herbicide
Landmark XP Herbicide is a broad-spectrum, pre-emergent, and post-emergent herbicide designed for bare ground vegetation control in non-crop areas.
02/09/26
Landmark XP Herbicide, manufactured by BASF, is a pre- and post-emergent that effectively manages over 120 broadleaf weeds and grasses, making it a preferred choice for industrial vegetation management and rangeland restoration.
The active ingredients in Landmark XP are Sulfometuron methyl and Chlorsulfuron, both of which are sulfonylurea herbicides. These compounds inhibit acetolactate synthase (ALS), an essential enzyme in plants, leading to the disruption of amino acid synthesis and ultimately causing plant death.
Landmark XP Herbicide stands out due to its long-lasting residual control, broad-spectrum efficacy, and user-friendly formulation. Provides extended residual control, reducing the need for frequent reapplications and lowering overall maintenance costs.
Tools Needed
A spray rig or helicopter will be needed for the application.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Landmark XP Herbicide to use by measuring the treatment area square footage. For square footage measure the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Apply 4.5 to 8.0 oz. of Landmark XP Herbicide per 15 gallons of water per acre of non-agricultural sites. Do not exceed a rate of 8.0 ounces of product per acre per year. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and agitate until the solution is mixed.
- Step 3: Adjust the sprayer to the lowest spray level, then broadcast the solution across the treatment area until it is evenly covered.
Where to Use
Landmark XP Herbicide can be used in rangeland restoration and in non-crop sites. It may also be used for general weed control on terrestrial non-crop sites and for selective weed control in certain types of unimproved turf grasses on these same sites.
Do not use on lawns, walks, driveways, tennis courts, or similar areas.
When to Use
Apply as a preemergence or early postemergence spray before or during the rainy season when weeds are actively germinating or growing.
Safety Information
Landmark XP Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets out of the treated area until the spray has dried.
Special Considerations
Keep from contact with fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, and seeds.
If non-crop sites treated with this product are to be converted to a food, feed, or fiber agricultural crop or to a horticultural crop, do not plant the treated sites for at least one year after the Landmark® XP Herbicide application. A field bioassay must then be completed before planting crops.
Do not use Landmark under pavement in residential properties such as driveways, or in recreational areas, including jogging or bike paths, tennis courts, or golf cart paths.
