Kasumin 2L Bactericide
Kasumin 2L Bactericide is an innovative antibiotic and bactericide that controls bacterial diseases in pome fruit, walnut, and cherries grown in orchards.
Kasumin 2L Bactericide, manufactured by United Phosphorous, is a professional antibiotic and bactericide that has a high level of preventative and systemic activity against harmful bacteria.
The active ingredient kasugamycin 2.3%, has a unique mode of action compared to other bactericides making it more effective to control diseases in wet and frost weather conditions.
Kasumin 2L Bactericide is highly effective in controlling harmful bacteria, resulting in better crop yields and increase in profit for professional farmers.
Tools Needed
To apply Kasumin 2L Bactericide, you will need to use a spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Kasumin 2L Bactericide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Apply 64 fl. oz. of Kasumin 2L Bactericide per 100 gallons of water per acre. Do not apply more than 256 fl oz of product per acre per year.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Kasumin 2L Bactericide, and pour in the remaining half of water. Stir the tank contents until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Adjust the sprayer to deliver coarse spray droplets so all plant surfaces, especially blooms can be thoroughly treated. For airblast applications: direct spray into the canopy, and turn off outward pointing nozzles at row ends and when spraying outer rows.
Where to Use
Kasumin 2L Bactericide is only for cherries (crop subgroup 12-12A); pome fruit (crop group 11-10); and walnut.
When to Use
Apply Kasumin 2L Bactericide when listed foliage still has petals and when conditions favor disease development; prior to cold; and when wet conditions occur in the fall and winter.
Safety Information

| Keith's Pro Tips | “A gradual or total loss of pest control may occur over time if these fungicides/ bactericides are used repeatedly in the same fields. The mode of action for Kasumin 2L Bactericide is the inhibition of protein synthesis. This product should be used to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by the indicated target bacteria. To reduce the likelihood of bacteria developing resistance to kasugamycin, follow the crop specific resistance management and use direction information present on this labeling.” |
