Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait, manufactured by Kaput, is a powerfully formulated granule product to eliminate and control California ground squirrels infestations, and their fleas as well.
This easy to use squirrel killing bait uses the active ingredient Diphacinone 0.0025% and Imidacloprid 0.0250%, which works to cause blood clotting in squirrels and paralysis in fleas resulting in a fast death for both pests.
Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait is a easy-to-use bait that has a highly palatable oat-based formulation that competes well with the squirrel's natural food sources.
Tools Needed
Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait must be used in a secured, tamper-resistant bait station.
Do not use these implements used for baiting for mixing, holding, or transferring foods or feeds.
How to Use
- Step 1: Before using the Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait, you will need to determine where California ground squirrels are most active. Once you have determine this place 2 to 4 lbs. of the Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait per secured bait stations with a glove covered hand. Depending on the infestation, secure each loaded bait station 20 to 100 feet apart.
- Step 2: Using waterproof gloves and a long handled scooping device transfer the measured amount of Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait from the container to the bait station.
- Step 3: Check bait stations frequently to ensure an uninterrupted supply of bait is always available for at least 15 days, or until there no longer are any signs of feeding. Collect and bury dead rodents while wearing waterproof gloves. Dispose of leftover bait according to "Pesticide Disposal".
Where to Use
Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait can be applied in tamper-resistant bait stations around buildings (including areas such as yards and flower gardens). Secure bait stations at locations where they will be readily accessible to California ground squirrels, preferably near active burrows.
When to Use
Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait should only be used when you have discovered damage done by California ground squirrels, or if they have invaded your home or place of business.
Safety Information
Kaput Ground Squirrel Bait is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.
This product is highly toxic to mammals and birds. Dogs, cats, and other predatory and scavenging mammals and birds might be poisoned if they feed upon animals that have eaten this bait.

The product works great for controlling the squirrel population. I bought a two year supply because California has restricted the sale on this item so the price is astronomical now. Oh well.
I expected the product to arrive in 50 pound pails as shown in your online store posting. Instead they arrived in bags which are difficult to store, and I question whether they will have a good two year shelf life. I would have preferred the re sealable pails. If that is not possible, I suggest you change the picture on your product catalogue to show them in bags.

I have had no problem putting the bait out - went thru a 25# bucket in 4 days with only 2 bait stations! Squirrels still active since I started baiting 7 days ago... hoping it wont be too much longer til they die! They are just sooooo destructive!!

I have both ground and tree squirrel problems. This bait worked quickly on the ground squirrels, but didn't work on the tree squirrels. I'm back to try live traps.

Very effective!
It took a few days for the squirrels to discover the bait, but when they did, all went as expected. The most notable thing I experienced is that 99% of the squirrels appeared to die underground. I found only 2 on the property, which I promptly disposed of. I was concerned that hawks in our area would find them, even though the manufacturer claims the bait will not second-hand kill. My squirrel problem has been 90% eradicated! Thank you!

This bait works like a champ! No need for the bait trap though (squirrels never used it)...but I threw a couple scoops down the hole and my problem was solved in a couple days!

If an applicator license isn't needed in California, the most over regulated state in the nation, I doubt if one wold be needed in WA.
