To use Kaput Combo Prairie Dog Bait you either can shake the product out of the container, hand spread the bait, use a bait applicator or use a scoop spoon.
How to Use
- Step 1: Before applying this product you must first locate active prairie dog burrows and tunnels via visual observation. The openings of active burrows will generally be free of natural debris such as leaves, seeds, and spider webs. Active burrows will also have freshly turned earth, and feces nearby.
- Step 2: To apply this product by hand to treat prairie dogs and their fleas, apply about 0.25 cups (or approximately 2 ounces or 56 grams) of the product using waterproof gloves into the burrow, at least 6 inches down. The machine should penetrate deep into the burrow and apply the bait at least 6 inches underground. It should also be calibrated to only dispense the recommended about of bait into each burrow. After initial application makes a second application approximately 6 days after the first application.
- Step 4: Return to the site of application within 4 days after the initial application and dispose of dead prairie dog bodies. Collect the bodies in the late afternoon, or near sundown, to reduce the potential of nocturnal predators from coming in contact with the infected bodies.
