K-Tea Copper Algaecide
K-Tea Copper Algaecide can be used in a variety of areas to control and eliminate algae. This product works quickly and efficiently to eliminate algae without harming the fish or other non-target plants in the area.
Tools Needed
K-Tea Copper Algaecide can be applied using a variety of different applications. For household or small volume application, you can use a pump sprayer or a backpack sprayer. For large volume application, you can use a spray rig, or even aerial application. Refer to the label for a full list of application methods and sites.
How to Use
- Step 1: Depending on whether your weed is on the surface of the water or underneath and how deep the water is will determine how much K-Tea Copper Algaecide to use. To calculate the surface area of water measure the length and width in feet and volume of water body (length X width X depth = surface area of water). It is also important to know the average water flow, and what application method you intended to use, as this will determine how much product needs to be mixed, and at what rate it should be applied. Generally, you will use 0.7 gallons of K-Tea Copper Algaecide per 1 feet of water depth to achieve 0.2 ppm. For best results, diluate K-Tea Copper Algaecide in water to provide a minimum spray mix of 20 to 50 gallons per acre. In areas with heavy infestations of filamentous algae, a total tank mix of 100 gallons per acre may be necessary.
- Step 2: Mix the required amount of product into your sprayer or other application device. If mixing with an adjuvant or other herbicide, ensure that there is already water in the tank and that there is proper agitation to allow both products to mix evenly.
- Step 3: Apply the product in the desired areas, being sure to get a thorough application all around the affected areas.
- Step 4: Reapply as needed until affected areas clear up of algae. Refer to the label for proper reapplication times and do not over apply, as over application may harm aquatic life.
Where to Use
K-Tea Copper Algaecide can be used in small and large volume bodies of water, with either still or slow moving water. Refer to the label for a full list of applicable sites.
When to Use
You can use K-tea Copper Algaecide at the first signs of algae growth or during an active infestation. The time to clear the infestation may vary depending on the type of algae and how serious the infestation is.
