Imidan 70-W is manufactured by Gowan Co. and is a quality insecticide that is ideal for use on economically significant pests on fruit trees, vegetables, ornamental plants and more. This product is packaged into pre-measured water-soluble packets, making the measuring and mixing process much easier and more efficient.

Tools Needed

Imidan 70-W can be used in low or high volume in an industrial or agricultural setting. To use Imidan you will need a high volume applicator such as a pesticide spray rig, ground boom, through certain chemigation systems, or with aerial equipment.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Imidan you will need by calculating the size (in acres) of the area you wish to treat. To do this, measure and multiply the area length x width to get the square footage, then divide by 43,560 to get the acres. (Length x width = square footage /43,560 = acreage). The use rate can be anywhere from 1 1/3rd lbs. to 8 1/2 lbs. per acre in 25 to 50 gallons of water per acre depending on the crop and the target pest.
  • Step 2: Fill your spray tank with half the amount of water and then add the required number of packets to your tank system based upon your calculations. Allow the packets to dissolve for a few minutes and ensure thorough agitation to achieve the proper dilution rate.
  • Step 3: Apply the product to your desired area using a course spray. Ensure that there is proper, even coverage of the area and that wind speeds are low to prevent drift. Read all label directions for specific application and treatment methods for your targeted pest and use site.
  • Step 4: Allow area to dry before returning. Some treatments may take a few days before allowing workers to return to the area. Refer to the label for proper safety measures regarding treatment and proper wait durations for crops.

Where to Use

Spraying Crops with Imidan

Use Imidan 70-W on fruit trees, vegetables, ornamental gardens, agricultural croplands and many others to control plant destroying pests. Refer to the label for a full list of application sites.

When to Use

Imidan can be used at the first signs of a pest problem or during an active infestation. Reapplication rates vary depending on the pest, and the state and city you are located in. Refer to the label for these rates, and observe proper local law regarding pesticidal application.

Safety Information

Imidan 70-W is safe to use when applied according to label directions. There are strict guidelines for applying this product over croplands and in industrial settings, so refer to the label for the specific instructions for your particular application method. It is also important to wear proper personal protective equipment when handling, measuring, mixing, and applying this product.

Special Considerations

Imidan comes in a water-soluble packet, and wettable powders require regular agitation to maintain a proper mix. If proper agitation is not achieved then the product can clump or not dilute properly, leading to improper dilution or even clogs in the applicator.
