09/28/25
Imidan 70-W Insecticide, manufactured by Gowan Co., is a quality insecticide ideal for economically significant pests on fruit trees, vegetables, ornamental plants, and more.
This product is packaged into pre-measured water-soluble packets, making measuring and mixing much easier and more efficient.
Tools Needed
You will need a high-volume applicator such as a pesticide spray rig, ground boom, specific chemigation systems, or aerial equipment to use this product.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Imidan 70-W Insecticide you will need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment areas' length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). For acreage, divide the square footage by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat almonds, use 4 1/3 lbs. of Imidan 70-W Insecticide per 5 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill your spray tank with half the amount of water and then add the required number of packets to your tank system based on your calculations. Allow the packets to dissolve for a few minutes and ensure thorough agitation to achieve the proper dilution rate.
- Step 3: Apply the product to your desired area using a course spray. Ensure proper, even coverage and low wind speeds to prevent drift. Read all label directions for specific applications and treatment methods for your targeted pest and use site.
- Step 4: Allow the area to dry before returning. Some treatments may take a few days before workers return to the area. Refer to the label for proper safety measures regarding treatment and proper crop wait durations.
Where to Use
Use Imidan 70-W for listed fruit and nut crops, vegetable crops, conifer trees, conifer tree seed orchards, conifer seedlings, deciduous trees, woody evergreens, and ornamental plants.
When to Use
It can be used at the first signs of a pest problem or during an active infestation.
Safety Information
Imidan 70-W Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Each crop has a restricted entry interval that must be followed before entering treated areas. This information can be found on the label next to the crop site.
Special Considerations
Imidan comes in a water-soluble packet, and wettable powders require regular agitation to maintain a proper mix. If proper agitation is not achieved, then the product can clump or not dilute properly, leading to improper dilution or even clogs in the applicator.
