Imidacloprid 0.5G
Imidacloprid 0.5G
Imidacloprid 0.5G, manufactured by Quali-Pro, is effective granule insecticide that targets and controls offers foliar and systemic control over soil-inhabiting pests in their adult, larvae, and nymph stage.
This low-rate insecticide provides complete control over a broad-spectrum of pests such as Japanese beetles in commercial and residential areas.
Imidacloprid 0.5G provides excellent broad-spectrum control over pests at the smallest application rate, making it an economic product.
Tools Needed
To apply Imidacloprid .5G, you will need either a handheld spreader or push spreader.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Imidacloprid 0.5G to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For general treatment to lawns, measure the area being treated and pour the correct amount of Imidacloprid 0.5G in the spreader. The typical rate is 60-80 lbs pre acre or 1.4 to 1.8 lb per 1000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Follow the label for spreader settings and make adjustments so your spreader is calibrated properly.
- Step 3: Push the spreader at a steady pace walking around the perimeter and move towards the middle. We suggest overlapping the pattern by 1 to 2 feet to ensure complete coverage. W
- Step 4: Water or irrigate treated areas within 24 hours after applying the granules. This ensures the granules soak into the soil for maximum results.
Where to Use
Imidacloprid 0.5G can be used on residential and commercial turfs, lawns, ornamental gardens, golf courses, parks, sports fields, and other outdoor landscaped areas except for commercial sod farms. Do not spread Imidacloprid .5G in areas that are flooded or over saturated as this will prevent penetration to the root system.
When to Use
Imidacloprid 0.5G should be applied before or during the period where the target pest is laying eggs. Imidacloprid 0.5% has enough residual activity to be able to plan ahead early. Best control would be achieved when applications are followed by adequate rainfall or watering to move the chemical into the soil.
Safety Information
Imidacloprid 0.5G is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product.
Special Considerations
Imidacloprid .5G works by penetrating the soil to soak through the root system of grasses, trees, and plants, which means it requires rain, watering or some form of irrigation for maximum benefits.

Q:Does it help to spray tree tops and branches?.8/23/21A:My experience was to eliminate grubs, with the thought that it would diminish the mole population--so I didn't spray anything other than the lawn. Here was my "experiment": I would spread Imidacloprid every 3 months and spray Dominion at the same time. 1 year later I have not had a mole problem at all, and doing some sprinkler head replacements (which required digging)--I only came across the occasional grub. Therefore, quite an improvement over a yard that was infested with moles. For this year, I will likely do 'one or the other' every 3 month and continue to assess on an ongoing basis. For me, the two products worked.

Q:How much area does a 30 lb bag of Imidaclorid 0.5G treat? I need to treat about 8,000 sq ft. When is the optimum time to treat a lawn for grubs? I live in northern Virginia.11/7/20A:I used one bag on 14,000 sq. ft. I had heavy grub infestation in the fall of 2018. Put down one bag the following spring when soil temp reached around 50 deg., late April early May. Then another bag late July early Aug. Completely eliminated the grubs. Following spring of 2020 put down a third bag. No grub issues as of Nov.
