Imazuron Herbicide
Imazuron Herbicide
Imazuron Herbicide, manufactured by Nufarm, is a highly effective bareground herbicide designed to clear gravel yards and other intentionally bare areas of troublesome annual and perennial grasses, broadleaf weeds, and vines.
Combining the powerful active ingredients imazapyr and diuron, Imazuron Herbicide offers a dual-action combination that provides both immediate knockdown and long-term control of a wide range of broadleaf weeds, vines, hardwoods, and grasses, ensuring thorough and lasting weed management.
Imazuron Herbicide's unique water-dispersible granule formulation is engineered to prevent clogging of nozzles and injection units during application, ensuring a hassle-free and even distribution of the product.
Tools Needed
Imazuron Herbicide can be applied using various methods such as a pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig for larger applications.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Imazuron Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To convert Square Feet to Acre, you have to divide the unit by 43,560, because there are 43,560 square feet in 1 acre. For example, if you want to convert 5 Square Feet to Acre, you have to divide 5 by 43,560. Apply Imazuron Herbicide at a rate of 7-19 pounds of product per acre, although rates as low as 5 pounds per acre may be used only if tank mixed with another herbicide (see the TANK MIXES section on label). For retreatment purposes within the same growing season, apply this product at a rate of less than 7 pounds per acre.
- Step 2: In a large container, add half of the required amount of water and then add the appropriate amount of Imazuron Herbicide to the large container. Fill the container the rest of the way with the remaining half of water. Mix well and then pour into the sprayer tank and apply the specified gallons per acre of spray volume using properly calibrated equipment to deliver a uniformly distributed spray pattern.
- Step 3: Apply Imazuron Herbicide over the treatment area. Refer to label for reapplication intervals. Follow-up applications may be required for dense infestations of perennial and biennial weeds.
Where to Use
Imazuron Herbicide controls most annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds in addition to many brush and vine species in industrial non-crop areas including utility plant sites, petroleum tank farms, pumping installations, storage areas, railroads, utility, and pipeline rights-of-way, highway rights-of-way, non-irrigation ditchbanks, fence rows, farmyards, non-crop areas around farm buildings, and may also be used to control weeds under paved surfaces.
When to Use
When using Imazuron Herbicide, for annual weed control, either preemergence or postemergence applications may be used; however, a late preemergence to early postemergence application provides the best results in most situations. For perennial weed control, this product is only effective when applied postemergence and will not control perennial weeds that have not emerged at the time of application. For best results, applications should be made when the weeds are growing vigorously and the spray solution should include a spray adjuvant
Safety Information
Imazuron Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal when mixing and applying this product.
