Image 70 DG Herbicide
Image 70 DG Herbicide is a selective post-Emergent made with the active ingredient Imazaquin. It is designed to treat persistent weeds in warm-season grasses.
Image 70 DG Herbicide, manufactured by BASF, is a selective post-emergent herbicide that kills summer weeds determined to survive where other herbicides aren't working.
Image 70 DG Herbicide contains the active ingredient Imazaquin. It works by being absorbed via the roots of treated weeds and then systemically moving through the weeds to deliver total control within a couple of weeks. Use Image 70 DG Herbicide to treat tough-to-control weeds like sedges, green kyllinga, field sandbur, and more.
Tools Needed
You will need to mix the product into a sprayer of your choosing, such as a backpack, hose-end, or hand-pump sprayer. A hose-end sprayer works best for the average residential broadcast treatment.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Image 70 DG Herbicide you need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will need to measure the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). Image 70 DG Herbicide can be mixed at a rate of 0.20 to 0.26 oz. per gallon of water to treat 1,000 sq. ft. of area. For example, if you measured 2,000 sq. ft. and wanted a broadcast treatment, you would need to mix .40 to .52 oz. of Image in 2 gallons of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: If using a handheld pump sprayer, fill your sprayer halfway with water. Based on your calculations, input the appropriate amount of Image 70 DG Herbicide into the sprayer, then fill the sprayer with water. Shake the sprayer to mix well, and you will be ready to spray. In a hose-end sprayer, add the appropriate amount of Image 70 DG Herbicide to the hose-end sprayer container to cover the treated area.
- Step 3: Spot treat or spray the target areas with the sprayer on a fan spray setting for uniform coverage. Water within 1 to 7 days after application to wash the Image 70 DG Herbicide into the root zone where the greatest weed control activity occurs. For difficult-to-control weeds, make a follow-up application 6 weeks after the initial application.
Where to Use
Image 70 DG Herbicide can be used on warm-season turfgrass such as, but not limited to, ground or lawns around residential and commercial establishments, parks, athletic fields, cemeteries, sod farms, and other similar area and to control specified weeds in ornamentals in the maintained landscape..
When to Use
This product should be sprayed when weeds are small and actively growing early in the season to control summer weeds. For winter weeds, time applications to follow the first killing frost. For best results, do not mow immediately before or for 48 hours after application.
Safety Information
Image 70 DG Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets out of treated areas until the sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
When spot treating with Image 70 DG, mixing with a non-ionic surfactant at a rate of 0.32 fl. oz. per gallon is recommended.
