Howard Johnson Bifenthrin PL Granules, manufactured by Howard Johnson Enterprises, is a high strength granule insecticide that delivers complete control on pests in turf, around buildings, and landscape areas within 14 days.

Contains bifenthrin 0.2% as its active ingredient, which results in the nervous system of above ground pests like armyworms to be shut down resulting in paralysis, then eventual death.

Howard Johnson Bifenthrin PL Granules small granule design provides an effective protection against pests without the need to be watered in and allows for a uniform yet maximum spread of product helping to avoid reapplication over previously treated areas.

Tools Needed

To apply Howard Johnson Bifenthrin PL Granules, you will need a push spreader.

Food utensils such as tablespoons must not be used for food purposed after use in measuring pesticides.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Howard Johnson Bifenthrin PL Granules you will need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and widht of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Depending on the pest, apply 1.15 to 4.6 lbs. of Howard Johnson Bifenthrin PL Granules per 1,000 sq. ft. of turf or 50 - 200 lbs. of product per acre. For perimeter treatments around structures, use 2.3 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. Broadcast applications on industrial non-agricultural sites, apply 2.3 to 4.6 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. For pad mounted electrical sites, use 1.0 to 1.5 tablespoons of product per 4 sq. ft. of mounting pad to decrease or prevent ant mound building activity on electrical pads. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Calibrate your spreader to deliver the desired flow rate. Pour the measured amount of Howard Johnson Bifenthrin PL Granules into the spreader.
  • Step 3: Apply Howard Johnson Bifenthrin PL Granules directly to the treatment area while walking at a steady pace. Directly after application, water the treated area with up to 0.5 inches of water to activate (release from the granule) the insecticide. For ant mounds, drench the mound with 1 to 2 gallons of water. A four-foot diameter circle around the mound should also be treated. For perimeter treatments, treat the ground area 5 to 10 feet wide around and adjacent to the structure.

Where to Use

Howard Johnson Bifenthrin PL Granules can be used on lawns in landscaped areas and perimeters around residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas, and athletic fields. Use areas include but are not limited to: lawns and around flower gardens, flower beds, around/along perimeters & foundations of houses and other structures, around mulch beds, along fence lines, and around decks and decking.

Not for use on golf courses, sod farms, nurseries, in commercial greenhouses or on grass grown for seed.

When to Use

Apply Howard Johnson Bifenthrin PL Granules when soil is dry and turf or flowers are well-established. During the cooler months, electrical sites seem to be more attractive to ants. Apply in the Fall or early Spring for best results. Treatment of adult billbugs should be made when they are first notice in April and May.

Do not apply this product when rainfall is expected to occur within 24 hours of application.
