Horsepower Selective Herbicide
Horsepower Selective Herbicide
Horsepower Selective Herbicide, manufactured by Nufarm, is a powerful selective broadleaf weed killer designed to tackle hard-to-kill, hardy broadleaf weeds and eliminates various broadleaf weeds, including dandelions, chickweeds, knotweed, clover, cocklebur, plantains, oxalis, spurge, and numerous others.
The expertly crafted formulation of Horsepower Selective Herbicide combines three potent active ingredients: MCPA, triclopyr, and dicamba. This triple-action approach ensures the eradication of a wide spectrum of broadleaf weeds and takes on over 150 different weed species, ensuring your landscapes remain weed-free.
Horsepower Selective Herbicide offers a solution for battling a diverse range of broadleaf weeds, all without the inclusion of 2,4-D. This sets it apart as an ideal choice for 2,4-D-sensitive areas, where precise and effective weed control is essential.
Tools Needed
Most conventional liquid pesticide plant sprayers can be used to apply Horsepower Selective Herbicide such as a hose-end sprayer, backpack sprayer, or handheld pump sprayer. For larger applications, a spray rig may be used.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Horsepower Selective Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For ornamental lawns and turf applications, apply Horsepower Selective Herbicide at the rate of 2 to 3 pints in 20 to 240 gallons of water per acre, or 0.73 to 1.10 fluid ounces in 0.5 to 5.5 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet, to control weeds growing in turf grasses.
- Step 2: In a large container, add half of the required amount of water and then add the appropriate amount of Horsepower Selective Herbicide to the larger container. Fill the container the rest of the way with the remaining half of water. Mix well and then pour into the sprayer tank.
- Step 3: Spray targeted weeds and brush until wet with Horsepower Selective Herbicide. If treating bodies of water that are approved by the product label, only spray areas where targeted weeds are growing.
Where to Use
Horsepower Selective Herbicide is a post-emergent, three-way selective herbicide designed for broadleaf control in ornamental lawn and turf grasses, parks, cemeteries, athletic fields and golf courses. Not for use on turf being grown for resale or other commercial use as sod, or for commercial seed production or for research purposes.
When to Use
Horsepower Selective Herbicide should be used as a post-emergent during periods of weed growth and when cooler weather is present in early spring and late fall before temperatures exceed 90 degrees.
Safety Information
Horsepower Selective Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets to enter treated area until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
When using Horsepower Selective Herbicide, do apply to Carpetgrasses or St. Augustine grass unless conditions are tolerable, otherwise damage may occur. Avoid drift of spray mist to vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and other desirable plants. Do not pour spray solutions near desirable plants.
